Verizon just gave me a new phone because my front screen cracked. The probelm is that I can not talk or hear anybody when the phone is closed. I have to use the speaker phone to talk to anyone! I want my old phone back now!

Same Here! I can text and the phone will ring but I can't hear, nor can the other person hear me.

SOURCE: they cant hear ME

sounds like a failure, sent it back to the manufacturor for repair, Lg chocolates go wrong a lot

I can hear incoming calls but they cannot hear me with the chocolate touch cell phone-any ideas?
hi, your phone has a speaker...whenever you talk it is this speaker that allows the other person at the other end will hear what you are saying...so when this speaker is faulty, you will not be able to communicate with the other person...all you need do is to change the speaker referred to MOUTH PIECE.

The phone is not on mute, it has a bad mic. You would need to replace the mic in order for the other party to hear you.

Is there a mute functionality on you phone? Try to change the settings if there is. Refer on the manual.

If there isn't, then there must be a problem with your phone's mouthpiece. Have a cellphone technician check it.
