In our case my gf put extra (tons) of dish soap with the washing tablet... not really smart move... our kitchen become a bubble party and then E15...

I openned the center bottom wheel inside the machine, where dirty water goes and it was filled with soap...

I cleaned it again and again with strong kitchen paper very carefully without leaving back any pieces.

I unplugged the machine for 3 minutes then turned it on again. E15 was still appearing and soap was coming back again inside... from the pumps. I continued cleaning it then dropped some bottles of clean water.

After a few attempts the water was completely sucked and cleaned. And I simply unplugged the device! Put it back to the socket and yeah baby. It was reset. I'm a hero (for my gf that I will tell her that I almost killed my self trying to fix the **)

Thank god our kitchen was a mess and I had so much work to do instead of washing dishes.

I couldn't tip my dishwasher forward as it is built in, but at the bottom of the machine (left hand side) there is a black plastic screwhead....with a screwdriver I twisted it back and forth a few times (remembering the original position) and the E15 error message disappeared, and machine works fine.

1 Turn off power
2 Remove lower front cover next to floor.
3 remove soundproof padding
4 Look in left of centre and you will see a white plastic tray with a circular float that Bob's up and down when you touch it..
5Check worth your fingers and you will notice about 6mm of water in tray.
6 Using about 6 to 8 sheet of paper kitchen towel, fold two sheets Kat a time into a flat pad, Using your fingers insert pads into tray and rock up all the water.
7 Turn on power ,and machine works.. .
The problem is caused by a small leak from the drum which is repairable however the above cure will last quite some time unless you have a serious leak.

This is the best answer! I just solved this problem doing much the same thing, though I took the switch and float out to dry it all properly. In my case caused by an overflowing basin next to the dishwasher (no overflow and not sealed at all).

SOURCE: I have a bosch dishwash e15 check water

I found this solution on elsewhere on fixya. it relates to a little float switch designed to detect water leaks I think. 1. turn off power and water 2. tilt back machine about 45% (have towels ready to soak up any spill off 3. when all the water has emptied, right machine and retry. if the problem keeps reoccurring, you may have a genuine water leak. I had to try a few times but this worked for me and saved me at least 4 days of hand washing over a long weekend. good luck

SOURCE: leaking water

Try to touch the lower door seal, it sometimes jumps out of its place when you open the dishwasher door. You may consider replacing the seal with a new one, I have to push the seal on my dishwasher to its proper place before every cycle. It is quite annoying, but free :-)

SOURCE: GE Nautilus

Our dishwasher had the same problem and it turned out that a broken glass had pierced the seal around the motor and water was leaking into the motor and out onto the floor So we had to replace the whole motor. Luckily it was covered under warranty.

I had the same problem and replaced the door seal. You need to remove the front door to do this. Requires some 'handyman' experience.

SOURCE: Our Siemens dishwasher retains water and smells

I would check the bottom of the dishwasher to see if there are any bones, old food built up as some of these collection systems have a small disposer built into them.
If you find any food, it's probably that.
Also, you can make sure that the drain line is the proper length and high enough as this is a common problem. Do a good search on proper drain height for dishwasher.
You may run an empty load of dishes with a cup of bleach added to eliminate the odor as well. Bleach will kill any bacteria causing the smell. More than likely the drain hose wasn't installed correctly.

My Neff dishwasher is showing E15 code plus showing a light on the tap symbol. I have had to switch it off at the plug as it keeps making a noise when switched off?

Could be an over fill issue causing water to leak into the base.
What you need to do is pull the dishwasher out and lay it on its back and this will allow the water to drain out from the base.

My Bosch dishwasher has a E15 Error.

This is a flood sensor issue rather than a float switch issue. The sensor is in the tray and senses water from dripping hoses or worn pump seals. It doesn't need much water as the sensor is at the lowest point, so it only needs a teaspoon of water. you can check the connections at sensor end and follow it to the control board connector.

My Bosch Dishwasher is displaying an error code E15, what does it mean? An E15 error code indicates that the safety switch has detected water in the base of the dishwasher. Your leakage protection system has activated.

We have a Siemens dishwasherSN66T091GB. The unit is not showing a fault code but the 'tap' light and 'rinse aid' lights are flashing continuously.

Tap symbol indicates a water problem.

Check that the water supply to the dishwasher has been turned on.

Check that the water supply hose hasn't bent or kinked.

Check the water supply first, see what you find.

Rinse Aid symbol light indicates low on rinse additive.

Hope this helps?

Error code E:14 Siemens Dishwasher - stops after 1 min of cycle

It might be helpful if you provide the full model number of the Siemens dishwasher. Most likely E14 error has something to do with water flow sensing. Check if your mains water pressure is ok (tap under sink is fully open). But can provide more details only if you can tell me the model number.

E15 error message making a funny noise, is the a

E15 indicates the anti flood device in the base of the appliance has been activated.

Unplug the appliance.
Take the cover below the door off.
Take the insulation out of the way.
Remove any water in the base that is lifting the float.

Once removed, try the appliance again. Watch through the open inspection panel to see if the appliance is leaking.

If the float isn't up activating the switch then the switch, wiring or control board is faulty. Check the float and check the switch.

Your machine is still under warranty so you do need to be careful about what you do.

Trying to repair it on your own may invalidate the warranty.

Hope helps.

The control panel on my dishwasher is showing a tap and E15

Mine's a bosch, same problem but started with E25 due to broken glass in the pump impeller, after struggling to remove it and then testing, it eventually moved to E15 as rightly so, no water was entering the machine due to the E25 code. The advice above is good, but take the device out first and tip the machine. This cured my faults without the need for a service call or spare parts.
