The FL error code means:
Flood Condition:
FL flashes if any overfill condition occurs. This condition occurs when excessive water in the tub causes the overfill switch to trip. The control must realize that the trip was due to an overfill condition instead of a suds lack condition in order for FL to be displayed

With an overfill condition, the beeper repeats a warning every 10 seconds with no time-out. The pump is cycled in drain mode for 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off until the overfill switch resets or power is discontinued to the unit.

Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display.

This problem I see on these are the water pumps getting clogged with lint or other things, causing the pump not to pump all of the water out at times.

There is a check "valve" in the drain assembly that seems to sometimes cause problems with the FL error code. You can remove this piece, and might avoid changing the pump.

Error code FL flashes and my calypso washer keeps beeping. Won't start just shows the code.

FL error - Flood condition

"FL" flashes if any overfill condition occurs. This condition occurs when excessive water in the tub causes the overfill switch to trip. The control must realize that the trip was due to an overfill condition instead of a suds lock condition in order for "FL" to be displayed.

With an overfill condition, the beeper repeats a warning every 10 seconds with no time out. The pump is cycled in drain mode for 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off until the overfill switch resets or power is discontinued to the unit. Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display.

Whirlpool calypso top load washer GVW9959k stuck on FL

FL=FLOOD CONDITION
I bet I know what the root cause of the problem is. TOO MUCH DETERGENT. Why do I yell that? OK here is what happens. Suds make the computer monitor work overtime to wash the clothes. The the computer measures the amount of water being used. The computer is also trying to correct the suds problem by adding water during hissy-cycles. (I call em hissy cyles.) Solution: Clean the soap dispencer use HE soap and use the right amount which is:

HE: (2) Tablespoons Per Wash load

HE 2X (double concentrated) : (1) Tablespoon

HE 3X (triple concentrated): (1) Teaspoon

Washer calypso

Unplug your machine for 5 min then turn on spin to remove water. If water won't go you have a bad water pump. Code FL refers to a low water flow problem ( won't fill fast enough ) or old water still in tub.
Next you need to turn off the water ot the unit and remove the water lines. Look into the water inlets on the washer to see if the dirt screens are clogged and not letting water into you unit at a fast enough pace.
Your unit has a water level sensor and should agitate when full, but I believe your machine might be "timing out" i.e. not filling as fast as your unit expects so even though it doesn't fill all the way it begins agitating because it has taken too long to fill. Good Luck!
