The "clean" light blinks 8 times, then there is a pause, then it blinks once. The dishes are clean but not dry, as if it has not completed the drying cycle. We had an engineer out to fix it who said it was the circuit board and that the blinking light code indicated "too much suds", he replaced the circuit board, but it didn't make any difference. It's an intermittent problem: sometimes the machine completes its cycle OK. I ran it with just vinegar and nothing else in (no detergent, no dishes) and it completed OK, so it could be a suds problem and we will try putting half a detergent tablet in, or using a different detergent. Or could it be the "suds sensor" (if there is one) which is faulty?

If the clean light blinks four times and then pauses and then blinks four times again and repeats, the problem is your pump motor. If there is water under the DW the pump clamp has probably failed and sprayed water onto and inside the motor. Call a certified Kitchen Aid repair service.

clean light blinks is a form of error codes. The most common is a heater circuit error, 7 times then a pause is the heater. to clear the code press the heated dry then normal in a key dance 4 times. this starts a diagnostic cycle, takes several min to complete. let it run. it will work until it sees the fault again. this code is caused when the main control does not read a water temp increase 3 times in a row. If this continues call for service.

If clean light is blinking then it may be an issue with heater circuit, door switch or wash pump, please reset the power to the dishwasher. After, 5 minutes check if you are still getting the same error. If yes, then it is a water heating fault. To resolve this error try pressing this reset sequence-- Heat Dry - Normal - Heat Dry - Normal or High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry or Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry, Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry or High Temp Wash-Heated Dry-High Temp Wash-Heated Dry . Now let the unit run for 2-3 minutes and then you press the Cancel/Drain button and allow it to completely drain and reset. If this doesn't work then it's an issue with the wash pump not pumping the water past the heater efficiently or due to lack of water to heat. Please make sure that heater is not open circuited and is heating the water efficiently. You'll have to check the heater using a multimeter; the meter should read between 3000 to 3300 ohms (Use multimeter on Rx1 ohm setting). If heater is fine then make sure water pressure is optimum and fill valve is working fine. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

LOCK LIGHT STAYS ON AND WILL NOT START. I HAVE TURNED THE POWER OF AT ELECTRICK PANEL AND IT STARTED ONE TIME. BUT DID NOT START ANYMORE.

Watch the light closely. If it blinks 7 times then pauses, this indicates a heater or door latch issue.
Press the following buttons in sequence: Hi Temp Wash, Heated Dry, Hi Temp Wash, Heated Dry.
If this doesn't work, check the tech sheet. (should be stuck to inside of the bottom toe panel)

All lights should illuminate then a diagnostic sequence will start.
Listen carefully, as soon as you hear the water begin to fill, open the door and feel the heater. if cold, check the heater for continuity (should be around 10ohms)
Also, bend the door catch on the dishwasher tub downward, this will engage the door latch better. Don't bend too far as it will hit the door while closing.

Yes this is a heater fault detection error. The unit may not be heating the water resulting in unsanitary dishes so the unit shuts down in this fault. Also the door may not have completely shut resulting in the heater not working, but everything else does (the heater common line is broken at the door switch. Clear the fault by entering diagnostics with this key dance heated dry, normal, heated dry, normal. All the leds will light, you can then press cancel and try another wash cycle. If fault occurs again, you must repair heater problem.

All the Leds should light up now just press cancel and Unit should operate. If it shuts down again the heater isnt working properly. Some times the door doesnt get shut well and that causes the fault. But the dishes arent very clean if the heater is not working.

 

Puppa, clear the fault by pressing the keys in this order: high temp scrb--air dry--high temp scrub--air dry. Or, depending on your model..Sani rinse--air dry--sani rinse--air dry. The dishwasher will enter the service mode. Let it do it's thing or advance it through it by pressing the start key. The fault came from the board not sensing a rise in the water temp. Make sure to run the hot water before starting the dishwasher. The heating element runs through the nuetral side of the door switch so make sure the d/w is level and the door switches are all making. The element itself could be at fault. Catriver...post back
