Hi thanks for trying to fix my problem. We have done the update on the wii before we bought the wii fit. the game did load but when it checked the time and date we noticed the time was wrong and re-set it. from then on the disc would not load. I have tried it in my friend's machine and it loads in theirs no problem. All our other games still play so I am at a complete loss as to why this one won't.
when i first got the wii it worked fine with updates but now it says i need an update to wii shop channel so i try and update it but it never loads the update! plz help me.

Basically you lost internet connection in the middle of the System Update. If you can regain an internet connection I would suggest just trying again until it finishes. If you plan on playing online, or if you can't get it to finish updating, you'll probably need to fix your internet connection problem.
Nintendo has an excellent online knowledge base for this, which outlines a number of fixes. Your specific problem is found here.
Changing your router's channel really can work wonders, which is also described on the Nintendo website.
If the Wii is having trouble with a disk, it means there's either a problem with the disk or the Wii. If your Wii can't read any disks then you'll want to contact Nintendo. Otherwise you need to investigate your disk.
If you hold the bottom side of the disk to the light you should be able to see if there's a smudge or scratch. If it's a smudge, cleaning the disk will often fix the problem. Use the microfiber cloths used to clean eyeglasses or, short of that, a tissue. Just rub the smudged spot. (When using a tissue I generally steam up the spot with my breath first.) If the disk looks good, put it back into the Wii and see what happens.
A scratch is more problematic. If it's a game you just bought, try exchanging it where you bought it. Otherwise you can try polishing out the scratch.
Some older Wii units also have trouble with dual layer discs, If your Wii is having trouble reading a dual layer disc you can try Nintendo's Wii lens cleaning kit. And also you can try to use a different disk to check if your system will be able to read it. then try the Wii Fit Plus If after all that, your Wii still can't read the disc, it's probably just a bad disc.
Hi the problem is usually caused when you update the firmware and if the firmware detects the Wii has been tampered with such as modded to play games it shouldnt then it picks up on this and bars you from using the Wii try the following first though
Try this: while holding down the reset button, turn on the power to the
Wii. If a menu comes up then your wii is definitely hacked but it has a
brick safety program to get you out of it if this then gets it working your lucky, if you have not had it modded and you bought it from new and have never done anything to it then send me a message back if you bought it second hand then the chances are its been hacked to play copies or foreign games so you could be a bit stuck.
the only option you have if it has been modded is to have it reprogrammed i fix consoles for a living and you will need to find someone who can sort this out for you, you will have to pay but it should get it working again.
if you have had it from new and it has not been modded then let me know and ill assist you further ok
plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks
The WII Fit board will only stay on, if there is a game loaded and waiting to access the board. For instance, the WII Fit game will prompt you to turn on the the WII Fit board. If you turn it on before prompted, the WII Fit board will turn itself off.
However, assuming you do not have a hard ware problem and you have already put in fresh batteries. you may have to resync the WII Fit board and the WII. Try pressing the red button on the WII Fit Board (near batteries) and the WII itself (near the SD card slot).
Have you updated your Wii? There was a program update a couple of weeks ago. My son had this problem with a different game and after updating it worked fine.
Hi there,
I have uploaded a file on the following link
http://www.4shared.com/account/dir/5026890/ce5fe369/sharing.html?rnd=64
copy the file which fits your Wii (Japanese or US or Europe) and use Winrar to open the ISO file.
Then burn the iso file onto a DVD with low speed like 2x.
Then, insert the DVD into your Wii and play the game like normal, it will ask for software update and click yes.
Then take out the DVD and check your Menu setting, it comes back.
when i first got the wii it worked fine with updates but now it says i need an update to wii shop channel so i try and update it but it never loads the update! plz help me.
