Did you install it into Program Files or Program Files (x86)?

The former is for 64 bit software, the latter for 32 bit.

If the problem is with the installer, try running it in compatability mode (right click on the installer, select properties and use the compatability tab.)

Yeah, did that, same problem. Can't change compatibility to be for different bit rates. So do you have a solution that actually works?

What should i download to get 32bit operating system software

What is the difference between 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows?
The terms 32-bit and 64-bit refer to the way a computer's processor (also called a CPU), handles information.

The 64-bit version of Windows handles large amounts of random access memory (RAM) more effectively than a 32-bit system. How can I tell if my computer is running a 32-bit or a 64-bit version of Windows?

To find out if your computer is running a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows in Windows 7 or Windows Vista, do the following:

1. Open System by clicking the Start button , right-clicking Computer, and then clicking Properties.

2. Under System, you can view the system type.

If your computer is running Windows XP, do the following:

1. Click Start.

2. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.

If you don't see "x64 Edition" listed, then you're running the 32-bit version of Windows XP.

If "x64 Edition" is listed under System, you're running the 64-bit version of Windows XP.

Installing adobe acrobat pro 6 to windows 7

This is an old version of Acrobat that was written for NT, Win2K and XP. Due to changes in the OS, it's hard to get the program to install in Windows 7.

Which version of Win7 do you have? (32-bit or 64-bit and Home Premium, Pro or one of the other variants) Since you indicated this under the Dell Dimension E521 with 1 GB of memory, I'll guess Win7 Pro 64-bit. (This uses the 64 bit CPU) You can check by clicking Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System. If the Windows version ends with x64, it is the 64-bit version. Otherwise, you have the 32-bit version.

Under the 64-bit OS, you need one of the following workarounds: a second computer, a dual boot computer or a virtual computer running an older version of Windows. If your hardware supports virtualization, this might be a good bet if you can add memory to computer. With Win7 Pro or Ultimate, you can download and install Virtual PC and XP mode from Microsoft and run XP for free. Then install Acrobat in XP mode as if it were your only machine. (Note: the Virtual PC requires a share of your total memory and doesn't give it back to the main computer while it is running.)

The other methods listed require a licensed version of an older Windows OS.

If you have the 32-bit version of Windows 7, you can try the compatibility mode. Right click on the installer and choose Properties. In the compatibility tab, check always run in the compatibility mode and select an older version of Windows. Then click Apply to save the changes and then click OK. Then right click again and choose Run As Administrator. You may have to repeat the compatibility mode changes for the program itself.

You may want to consider upgrading to a Windows 7 compatible version of Acrobat. The current version is Version X.

I hope this helps.

What is the procedure to install a 32-bit softwares in to my laptop(windows 7,home premium,64-bit) ?

Most programs designed for the 32-bit version of Windows will work on the 64-bit version of Windows. Notable exceptions are many antivirus programs.
Device drivers designed for 32-bit versions of Windows won't work on computers running a 64-bit version of Windows. If you're trying to install a printer or other device that only has 32-bit drivers available, it won't work correctly on a 64-bit version of Windows.

Windows 7 64bit does run programs that will run on windows 7 32bit, see here

How Windows 7 / Vista 64 Support 32 bit Applications

BUT not ALL 32bit programs will run on Windows 7!!! There are many programs that will run on Windows XP and before that will not run on Windows 7. IF you had Windows 7 Pro version (or upgrade) there is a program you can download from Microsoft that will simulate an XP environment to allow programs to run called "XP MODE".
Try to install the 32bit software first. If installation not succeed, it would be better if you first look into a newer version of the program you want to run.You have to consider that a newer version of your program might not be that much more expensive than upgrading to pro, and with the newer version, usually comes newer features.

Hope this help and if helpful RATE please.

unfortunately no, windows 64 bit doesn't support 32 bit or 16 bit applications so you should call the support number or go online to return the unsupported edition for a 64 bit edition (if they have one). Hope this helps.

I have a dell inspiron 9300 laptop runing windows xp. i want to download the trial version of sony vegas pro 9. do download 32bit or 64bit version --or does it matter? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello,

Right click on My Computer on your desktop and select Properties. If you have a 64-bit system it should say so in the window that pops up. It would say x64 after the Operating System name or 64 bit near the bottom. If it does not say, it is a 32 bit system.

You can also select Start>Run, type winmsd in the box and press ENTER. In the right pane look for Processor. If it is a 64 bit system the Processor line will start with ia64 or AMD64. If a 32 bit system it will start with x86.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Trying to install Math Blaster from ''Knowledge Adventure'' on new vista 64 machine. error on opening setup is ''The program feature ''??E:setup.exe'' cannot start or run due to incompatibity with 64-bit...

Well I do know that "most" 32bit software can be installed on a 64bit windows, unfortunately this one maybe be an exception. I searched all over the maker's websites and could not find a single hint of 64 bit support. One other thing you might try is to right click on setup.exe and run as an administrator , but considering the error you are recieving I don't think it will help. I don't think it is possible, sorry.

I bought a new computer. When I tried to run

To be honest, there are only two options.

1. Go to the sierra online website and see if you can get a 64 bit version of the game

2. Get an entirely new OS of windows (a 32 bit version) and then try installing
