Bought a used razor mx500. charged up batteries and charger indicated a full charge. bike would not go. while charger was still attached i turned on switch and the power a full charge lights came on at the throttle. i opened the battery case and found that there were only 2 wires coming from the charger port, both running to the same plastic connector. the photos of a replacement charger port all show 3 wires. i also found that the fuse was not blown. could the missing wire be the likely cause of the problem i'm having. thx.

Most likely, the last 2 answers are correct. When you charge the battery, does the light on the charger stay red for several hours before turning green? Check the voltage of the 3 batteries after the charger light turns green. It should be 39-40 volts or so no load. Turn the throttle and see if the voltage drops when the relay clicks. You can connect the batteries directly to the motor and it should go full speed if they are good.
Well if it's missing fuses obviously it won't run. When you turn it on does the green light on the throttle come on? if you have a voltmeter that would help. Are you sure the charger is good? if so you want to see 39 volts or so across all 3 batteries. Sometimes the switch contacts develop excessive resistance try shorting them with your screwdriver... if it runs you need a switch. can you hear the controller click when you turn the throttle?
Some chargers have 2 LEDs (lights), some have one. Both chargers have an LED that is red (or orange) when the charger is charging a battery and turns green when the battery is charged and the charger has dropped back to trickle charge mode or off. On the charger with two LEDs , the extra LED is normally red to indicate the mains power is connected.
yes!your battery needs replacement.....throttle clicking after a full charge is a sign,...but that's after 2years or more, depending on how it's being used..your motor can go bad before then if you been riding in the rain--wet connectors in or out the motor can not get wet for any reason..a full dirt motor bike can not get full dirty with mud..mud catains water/water and electricity don't mix/////.motor/thottle/moisture.
Are the batteries really gettin a full charge or is your charger faulty. If you can borrow a voltage meter you can see what your battery is putting out and check the charger (plugged in) to test how much voltage it is putting out. If the Razor is 12 volt you can hook up a car/motorcycle charger to pump up those batteries. I don't think your batts are not holding a charge, i think they're not gettin a charge....good luck to you...Tim
theres nly 2 things at work here in my opinion, the battery and the charger, if this bike is of any age chances are the battery is no longer good, it may read ok with the meter but when you put it under a oad like trying to ride it it may go to 0000 see if you can mete it under aload
