Sounds like your console needs cleaning from the inside, to much dust and fluff. You will find good tutorial on you tube on opening the console.This worked for me.

You have a weak laser that is starting to fail .
you can have a shop swap it out for 60.00-80.00
or you can buy a laser ,their cheap 20.00-30.00 new
and DIY with a youtube video .If your handy with tools It's not that hard .
Kinda sad when you offer free ,professional advice with straight forward
answer of the likely cause and several options with average prices .
I would have been more than happy to trouble shoot your drive
but rather than leave the rating blank or at least ask a follow up question.

P.S. dust is never an issue since the drive spins at such a high rpm
the dust is swept aside . I have never seen a dirty lens. just dead
and or weak lasers.
