Make sure your aerial's RF lead goes to the DVD first then out of that into the TV.

i have a panasonic dvd rcorder / video combi model DMR-EZ49VEB. I have recorded something on DVD, which is 4 hours in duration, and I want to edit the recording and split it into parts. I follow the manual, but when I press EDIT the option to split isnt even there? I am confused, it is SUCH a difficult manual to deciphre, but the only 2 options there are "Edit title name" and "Change Thumbnail". The others are not listed. the disc is not copy protected or locked and is of sufficient duration to split the contents. HELP PLEASE :(

Static in playback of VCR on Panasonic DMR -EZ47V DVD/ VCR combo.

First make sure the cable on the back has the center pin and its in nice and tight.I would also try another VCR on the same line that way you can eliminate that first. Then if that doesn't show a problem it maybe a internal problem with a lose solder joint. Also I was wonder does the horizontal lines appear when you use a prerecorded tape.If it does you may need to clean your heads on the VCR.

Panasonic DMR-EZ47V Fuzzy horizontal line in VHS mode

Dirty heads or the recording was from a different brand VCR and the Panasonic cant get the right tracking. Try manual tracking just a little in either direction to you get the right one.

Cannot Record using VHS

The question here would be one of two things. Obviously without probing further it would seem you're having an "unusual scheduled recording" issue. But, without further information it's difficult to tell.

For one, are you recording from straight signal (cable or antenna into the RF IN of the unit), or are you recording from a box (cable or satellite receiver or D/A converter, etc)?
Do your scheduled recordings record the first and not even pick-up the second, or do they record but only record static?

These are questions that will need to be answered before further assistance can be provided.

Copying vhs to dvd

The write-protect tab on the cartridge is set to "PROTECT" or the disc is protected witht the "DVD Management" settings.
Some video tapes on the market(including rental videos) are copy-protected to prevent illegal reproductions. Copy-protected video tapes cannot be properly recorded.
You cannot use the copying function when the FUNCTIONS window, the Scheduled Recording List screen, etc. are displayed.
I hope this information can be of some help to you all. Ms Tanya 2/12/08 3:54AM CST.

Vhs dvd combi panasonic dmr ez47

If you select the HDMI channel to watch a dvd does it do it then, if not disconnect both ends of the scart lead and reconnect or replace. If the scart lead is not in properly this could happen, when you switch on the player and play a disc your tv will automatically switch to the AV/Scart channel, but you are better off manually turning the TV over to the HDMI Hi-Def channel for DVD.
