Where can I download freee themes for a bb 8520 and how do I install them?

Reload software 522 on the BB is liking saying wipe out your BB and start afresh. Here is what you do;
On your PC, make sure you have the current version of Blackberry desktop manager and the latest Operating system.
But, before you go wipe your BlackBerry, you might want to try a basic USB connection first. Plug in your Berry and instead of running Desktop Manager, run App Loader. There's a chance the device will connect and if it does,you can play around in the device's files,back them up if you have not just in case u have to do a full Wipe or format. I'd recommend deleting any recently installed applications, plus any unused theme files including your current theme, just to be sure. For some reason, third party themes can cause problems. Also, if you can upgrade your Operating system(OS) through App Loader, try that too. Once you do that, disconnect the device and see if it works. If it still doesn't work,then you have to wipe the device clean. to do that please follow the instructions on this link

go to the nokia store on the phone and you can download themes as well as hooking it up to your computer and download themes thru there website for freee!

THere are a couple ways to install a theme, the easiest way is OTA (Over the air) meaning you download direct to your device, the other way is to download and install using desktop software,

I suggest using the OTA method, for free themes a great resource is the crackberry forums, try searching on google "Crackberry Forums Free Themes Curve 8520" then all you need to do is click an OTA link, once downloaded to activate go to Options> Display> Theme>Select theme to activate

The SMS/MMS icon is hidden. Either press the menu key twice from the front screen and select show all, or if this option is not available, enter Menu>Options>themes and choose another theme. This should make the icon re-appear
