This is a chip error. This happens frequently when using generic brand cartridges & not OEM genuine. You will need to replace the toner cartridge

1. Open and close the front door.

My printer shows 10.1000 supply memory error

This might be a non-HP toner (although i doubt it) since the error indicates that the supply memory chip was not found at all.The chip might also be deffected.

This are the steps offered by the service manual:

1. Open and close the front door.
2. Ensure the cartridges are fully seated.
3. Swap the cartridge for the color
indicated with a cartridge in another
slot to determine whether the error
follows the cartridge or stays with the
slot. If the error follows the cartridge,
replace that cartridge, otherwise,
continue with step 4.
4. Check the memory controller PCB
contacts to the memory tag. Clean if
dirty.
5. Reseat the memory controller PCB
connector J201 and DC controller PCB
connector J1025.
6. Defective memory controller PCB,
replace the memory controller PCB.
7. Defective DC controller PCB, replace
the DC controller PCB

Good luck,im sure that replacing the toner will solve it.

10.00.00 supply memory error Unable to read cartridge data

Memory Supply Error 10.00.00 The printer is unable to read or write to the print

cartridge e-label, or the e-label is not on the cartridge.

Basically what is happening is the printer cannot read the small chip on the toner cartridge. The chip is located on toner cartridge as it is inserted into the printer. 1 - Make sure the toner is firmly seated into the printer. 2 - Power cycle the printer with the toner out of the printer. Install the toner back into the printer. 3 - Install another toner cartridge. 3 - Verify that the e-label connector is firmly seated in connector

Contact a local HP Authorized Service Center for further assistance.

I am getting 10.00.01 memory supply error on the cyan cartridge of my HP color laserjet 3500. The cartridge is nearly full and was working fine. I have tried cleaning the memory controller PCB contacts but...

I had a like problem and found that the chip on the cartridge was mounted without enough spacer such that contact was not being made with the memory controller PCB connector.  I cut some two-sided tape and put it behind the chip such that it stuck out further so that better contact could be made and the problem was solved.

Supply Memory Error

It sounds like you are having two diffrent problems. I don't think they are associated with each other.
First, the memory supply error. The cartridges on this machine have a chip. The chip could very well be faulty causing this supply error message. Change the black cartridge and see if the message clears. if it dosen't then the antena that reads that chip needs to be replaced. I suspect the cartridge is the problem.
Second, the paper jams. This can be caused by a worn p/u roller as you mentioned. Sounds like the jam happens first then the error, based on your description.
The black thing you refer to on the door is called the "transfer belt assembly".

Supply Memory - Error on Black

A supply memory error is the smart chip on the cartridge. It can also be a physically damaged or locked / froze catridge. In this case the machine is identifying the black cartridge. The first thing to do is replace the cartridge (black).

If it's missing or has a corrupted smart chip lots of weird errors can result but they will usually still direct you to the specific cartridge to replace. If it's a refilled or remanufactured cartridge I would HIGHLY suspect that is the issue.

To locate the smart chip to see if it has come loose, see the picture below:

e142a72.jpg
It's the green little computer board in the picture. Make sure it hasn't come loose. Below is a close-up of the chip. If it is a remanufacture or refill it should look slightly different than shown in the picture as the picture shows an original HP chip. If it's the exact same and a refill, return the cartridge to your supplier.

Hope this helps you. If so hit it with a FIXYA. If not, try to get the printer to print a configuration page or error report and let me know the last couple errors shown by numbers. (Full numbers, like 10.10.1000 or 13.02.05.)

Cheers
