I have an OLDER TB tiller. probably built in the 80's. I 'think' it is the smaller model, maybe the pony? I have not used it in about 15 yrs and the motor does not run anymore. What I KNOW about it: It has 8" wheels and a Tecumseh engine. Not sure of the hp.
I want to replace the engine with a Honda if possible, but I need some info in order to buy the right type. It 'appears' the shaft is 11/16 diameter, but I am not familiar with any engine having that size. Bigger than 5/8, but smaller than 3/4. What would it be? It does not appear to be tapered. The bolt pattern appears to be either 2 1/2 or 2 5/8". Does you records give any info on these specs?

Great machine, I had one. The points need replacement. Look for a gadget that replaces the points. I found mine in PepBoys. Search the Internet, the cost was about $5.00.

From what I read you need a new rewind clutch and the spring and cord go into the housing. Briggs is easy to fix. contact me at [email protected] and I can send you what you need or you can send it to me and I will repair it very cheap!! Parts are available at almost any small engine parts place.

The pony tiller with a Briggs and Stratton engine only uses gas do NOT mix oil with the gas.
