Generally the security code for Nokia is 00000 if this does not work then it has been changed and if you did not change it and don't know it the only way to get rid of the security code is by re-installing the firmware or by upgrading the firmware. You will lose any data or info you have though.
You can set up a security code to lock your Nokia 6288 keypad in case a thief tries to call from your stolen phone

You can set up a security code to lock your Nokia 6280's keypad in case your phone opens in your pocket and calls one of your contacts, annoying them and potentially running up a huge bill.
The code will also stop a thief from using your stolen Nokia 6280 to run up a huge phone bill before you can alert your network provider.
To set the security code, click Menu > Settings > Phone > Security keyguard. You'll be prompted for the Security code. By default this is 12345. Enter this and press OK. Select On and click Select to see the message 'Security keyguard activated'.
Now when you slide your phone shut and press Lock, you'll see the message 'Keypad locked with security code'.
When you slide it open, you'll be prompted to enter the security code. Type your code and click OK to activate your keypad.
Of course, if any potential phone thieves are reading this, they'll now know the default security code is 12345.
To change the security code, go to Menu > Settings > Security > Access codes > Change security code. When prompted, enter your current security code and click OK. The enter your new security code (a PIN between 5 and 10 digits in length), click OK and enter the new code again to verify it. Click OK and you'll see the message 'Security code changed'. Hope this helps.
ok listen.i was confused.u cannot send a message and u try to restore but u dont know the security code.of course u cant send message cause u dont know the securitycode.simple, try 1234 or 0000 if not.change simcard.and if not make it that for program in repair shop.they will delete ur code and no more code and u can send mesg.
It is possible to put code on E71, You go to settings then security, you will enable the keypad security code and enable your phone code also. With these nobody can access your phone without asking for security code. Take note Phone, sim and keypad pin code must be enable. Thanks
In case you forgot your security code, you could retrive it in case you are aware of the pin unlock code (PUK). Your cellular operator would be able to help you get your PUK in case you dont know it and that will enable you to reset your security code. Cheers!
Call your phone number. After the greeting is finished and you hear the beep to leave a message push 123 on a touch tone phone and you will be given a list of things you can choose to do including listening to messages. 123 is the default security code unless the security code has been changed. Since you dont know how to retrieve messages Im assuming the default security code has never been changed.
If 123 is not the default security code and you dont know what the code is, you can change your code in the setup menu. You get to this by pushing the stop/set button on the answering machine and holding it for a couple of seconds. Since GE doesnt offer a downloadable manual for the 29878GE1 you should probably take a look at the manual for the 29875GE1 which is basically the same model with the addition of a digital message counter. Hope this helps.
