Excessive smoke comes out from oven when cooking

Excessive smoke comes out from my oven when heating up for instance a loaf of bread.
I have a self cleaning oven and did the self cleaning twice. It is very clean but each time I try to cook and open the door excessive smoke comes out. So much so that all my fire alarms went off.
Help..

Hmmm sounds a bit strange is there anything at the bottom of your oven that has been spilled on it even on the heating coils? (if electric) (if gas there could be a very serious problem with the oven that needs fixing right away!)

The switch inside the door lock mechanism is stuck down making the unit think it is still locked.  the switched is located next to the hook that locks your door.

SOURCE: oven smoking

I am pretty sure this is just the steam escaping. Smeg ovens seal so evenly that the steam stays in the oven.

SOURCE: oven smoking

smoke is caused only by fat getting onto an element and should stop after a while, ie when all the fat is burnt off. this is usually a problem with the grill element.
you can get a finjhe mesh grid which fits over the centre vent in the back plate and this should help

SOURCE: "door lock" light stays on and oven won't work

Same problems. When I removed the lock operating arm nothing happened. Motor is not operating. I've temporarily kluged it by tying the "unlock" (upper) switch circuit together and disconnecting one side of the power to the "locked" (lower) switch. At least we'll have an oven to use, but I'll have to come back and remove the lock motor assembly to find out what's really wrong.
BTW, if some knows those keyed-in service codes they could be useful.

How to change lower element in DeLonghi Airstream Convectio Oven

  • How to change lower element in DeLonghi Airstream Convectio Oven??

  • Preheat ovens only when necessary. With conventional ovens, keep the preheating time to a minimum. Unless you're baking breads or pastries, you may not need to preheat the oven at all.
  • Food cooks more quickly and efficiently in ovens when air can circulate freely. Don't lay foils on racks. If possible, stagger pans on upper and lower racks to improve air flow.
  • Use glass or ceramic pans in ovens. You can turn down the temperature about 25°F and cook foods just as quickly.
  • Do not open the oven door often to preview the food. Each time you open the door the oven temperature drops by 25°F. Watch the clock or use a timer instead.
  • Full-size ovens are not very efficient for cooking small- to medium-sized meals, it generally pays to use toaster ovens or microwave ovens.
  • Check to be sure the oven door gasket is tight. Adjust or replace gaskets as required.
  • If you have a self-cleaning oven, consider using the self-cleaning feature immediately after regular baking when the oven is still hot. Less energy will be required to reach the cleaning temperature. Try not to use the self-cleaning feature too often.
  • Keep range-top burners and reflectors clean; they will reflect the heat better and save energy.
  • Match the size of the pan to the heating element; more heat will get to the pan and less will be lost to the surrounding air. A 6-inch pan on a 8-inch burner will waste over 40% of the energy.
  • On electric stove-tops, use only flat-bottomed pans that make full contact with the element. A warped or rounded pan will waste most of the heat.
  • When cooking with a gas range-top burner, use moderate flame settings to conserve gas. Also make sure the pilot light is burning efficiently, with a blue flame. A yellowish flame indicates an adjustment is needed because the gas is burning inefficiently.
  • Whenever possible, use a pressure cooker. By cooking food at a higher temperature and pressure, cooking time is reduced dramatically and energy use is cut by 50-75%.

What is rhe best temperature for cooking bread in the Neff 1451 oven?

On circotherm at around 210 in a preheated oven for first ten minute, then drop to 190 until finished. For a 2-2.5lb loaf that would be 10mins followed by 20-30mins depending how dark you want it. On the neff ovens down the left side the shelfs are numbered 4 at the top down to 1 at the bottom... you should use the shelf set on 1 or 3 (**NEVER IN POSITION 2**). Good Luck. Hope this helps.ps you can prove the bread in the oven by setting the selector to 'fan' but with no temp, the heat from the lamp will create enough heat (obviously the bulb/lamp need to be working!!)

How do I get the door open after self cleaning and what do I push to self cleaning

Hi, Some ovens are self cleaning During the cleaning process, the oven heats up to a temperature of 900 degrees Fahrenheit. The extreme heat cooks off food and spills inside the oven, leaving ash that can easily be wiped out. The oven door locks while it is cleaning to prevent the door from being opened. Self cleaning ovens are better insulated than regular ovens to keep the extreme heat inside.

    Instructions

Read the owner's manual that came with your oven before you perform self cleaning. Although all self cleaning ovens work basically the same way, there may be slight variations for some manufacturers and models.

Take out the oven racks. You need to clean the oven racks by hand, and then put them back in when the oven is done cleaning.

Wipe up any spills and messes inside the oven first, using warm water and a mild soap. Ovens smoke more during cleaning when there is food inside. Wash the inside of the oven door as well. Do not scrub the door gaskets, just gently wipe them off. Damaging the gaskets prevents the oven from sealing.

Lock your oven door manually if your model does not lock it automatically when you clean.

Open a window near the oven for ventilation. There is a certain amount of smoke when you clean the oven. The dirtier the oven is, the more smoke is created.

Turn the control on your oven to "clean" and set the timer for 2 to 5 hours depending on how dirty your oven is, and what the manufacturer recommends.

Wait for the cleaning to finish and the oven to cool before opening door. When oven is fully cooled wipe up any ash inside. If your oven is not completely clean, next time set the timer for longer. If your oven is spotless you might want to see if you can get away with a shorter cleaning time.

    Tips & Warnings

Because self cleaning ovens are better insulated, they are more energy efficient when used for cooking. However, if you run the self cleaning feature on your oven more than once a month, you offset the savings you realized. With light to moderate use your oven should be able to be cleaned every one to three months.

Save on the electricity used with a self cleaning oven by cleaning the oven right after use at a high temperature. For example, if you set your oven to clean after making French fries at 450 degrees, it takes less energy to get the oven up to the required 900 degrees.

If you have pet birds, take them out of the house before cleaning your oven. Over heated cooking surfaces, oils and fats, can create fumes that are harmful for a bird's delicate respiratory system.

    Hope it helped.

Smoke comes out of top when cleaning oven. Oven takes way to much time to cook. Oven does not cook evenly. Items cooked in oven are burnt outside and almost raw inside.

hello jjm... these ovens have two heating elements. when one is bad they still heat but they bake way too slowly. this is the problem here. the fix is to replace the bad element but in my repair service I always replace both heating elements since when one goes the other is usually not far behind.

I have a Whirlpool Self Clean oven Model number:RBS305PDS17. I used the self clean feature and now my oven will not heat up. All the digital controls work such as preheat and temperature, however there is...

Error code E2F3 indicates oven overheating, i.e. sensor is not cutting off heat. Replace the sensor, about $75 online. If you have done this more than twice, or if oven is acting strangely (for instance, broiler comes on during "bake" preheat), replace control board OEM part #8302994, about $170.

    Hi.

the oven may have locked in consequence of the self cleaning cycle.

After unplugging, allow the oven cooling down for few hours.

If the is still locked, then the high temperature generated in self cleaning cycle may have damaged temp probe, door latch, or electronic control.

Parts must be tested to discover the fault.

Call Kenmore at the number listed on the owners manual.

I have alot of smoke when i use the self cleaning feature

Self cleaning works by 'burning' all of the material it is cleaning.  If you have excessive grease other material in the oven, it will cause the smoking.  Either do the cycle more frequently or remove as much of the goo as possible with a cloth before beginning.  If you have a ventilator to the outside, turn it on and close the door to the kitchen to contain the odor.
