I would like to control my dish network receiver 3100 with my samsung remote

Depending on the Universal remote model, there are different codes that are associated with the remote and component you want to program the remote to. I have provided a link with remote codes for different Universal remotes. I hope this helps.

If you are using the remote to operate an IR frequency, you can program that component to the VCR or AUX button on the new remote. I have provided the instructions on how to program the remote. I hope this helps.

• Remote: 3.4, 4.4, 5.3, 5.4, 6.3, 6.4, 20.0, and 21.0
  1. Go to 2nd IR receiver
  2. Go to System Info Screen
  3. Hold down the AUX button until all mode lights light up.
  4. Press 3 then enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.
  5. Press the pound (#) button
  6. Once the AUX button blinks three times, press record. Note: If successful the number selected in step 4 will appear in the System Info screen under Remote Address.

Whenever having a remote issue it's always best to post the model number of the remote in question, this can be found on the back of the remote. Usually issues with the remote are quickly fixed by readdressing it. Start by pressing the menu button, this can be found on the top left of the DISH Network remote, then press the numbers 6-1-3. We should not be on the system information screen, once there press the record button on the remote 3 times then use the remote to exit the menu.

Ur can't use the Samsung remote to control the dish receiver.U must have the original remote came with the dish receiver to do that.Talk to ur satalite provider,they'll provide u with a remote or replacement for ur old dish remote.

The remote you mentioned is not compatible between the different receivers. Some remotes can be used with different receivers. You would need a new remote if you are having problems with the other remote. I hope this helps.

Hi. You may want to check the remote address settings.

1. Press SYSTEM INFO on the receiver's front panel. The System Information screen displays on the nearby TV and shows the Remote Address.
2. Using the Dish Network remote, press and hold SAT on your remote control for about three seconds, until all of the mode buttons light up, and then release SAT.
3. Using the NUMBER PAD, press the 1 button.
4. Press POUND (#). If you entered the address correctly, SAT will flash three times.
5. Press RECORD. Make sure the Remote Address you see on the System Information screen is 1.
6. Press the SELECT button on the front panel to close the System Information screen.

Programming an Expressvu remote control can be frustrating. There are two basic ways of doing in it. The first one involves knowing both your TV brand name and also knowing the proper code to input in your remote. The second method is doing an automatic search. The following is a step by step procedure in how to program your dish network or Expressvu remote.

1)Make sure your TV and Satellite Receiver is ON.
2)Press and hold TV button until all lights on the side of it flashes. The TV button is the second button on the Top left hand side corner of the remote control.
3) Release that button, then press & release RED Button. You will notice TV button is stays on. If, it doesn't stay ON, you must repeat step 2 & 3. Otherwise, your batteries are low, you MUST change then.
4)Press and release the UP Arrow Key on the remote until TV turns off. Notice the UP arrow key button is the button below the volume keys (Stop button for VCR.)
5)Make sure you are aiming remote control to TV while pressing and releasing UP arrow key button. When you find the right code, the TV will turn OFF.
6) Immediately after, TV turns off, press # key.

Carlos most Dish remotes do not support combo TV's. However if you follow this link you can select the remote you have and find the device codes there that they do support to see if your tv is indeed supported. Dish has a new remote that is a learning type that is standard with the 222k receiver. The 222k is a dual tuner two room HD receiver without DVR.
