I think it's there to tell you that you're within network coverage.

You can turn it off by going to Options, Screen/Keyboard, and set 'LED Coverage Indicator:' to "Off".

Hope this helps!

Stop red light flashing to delete 1 missed call

Hi , First of all, Level 1 Notifications are sent to the smartphone to indicate when important or urgent messages are sent. To disable this or turn off,
Depending on the phone you are using: (the steps below are for Blackberry)
  1. Go to your RingTone Profile setting (the one where you change what kind of ring/vibrate that you want)
  2. Scroll down and click on Advanced
  3. Click into your Ringtone Profile
  4. Click on "Level 1 Messages"
  5. Click on "Repeat Notification" and change it from "LED Flashing" to "none"
  6. (Make sure that you do it for what is called "In Holster" and "Out of Holster")
Hope this helps. On another note; sometime, when you delete a call while the missed call is Bolded... the red light will continue to flash. What happened was, the link between the light and the deleted call has unsynchronized and therefore caused the red light to constantly blink. There is one way to restore it back to normal, but no guaratees.... place another voice call to yourself, (use a landline phone to make the call to your mobile). Let the call complete and have it show up as missed. Go into your missed calls and click on it to change the status to "read". It should restore back to a green flashing light. IF not, you have to either wait 10 mins for it to stop, or pull the battery out to soft reset the device back to normal operation.

How do you know if you have a voice mail message

Yes, the was bothering me for some time. I think the indicator is a little green light that blinks in the extreme upper left hand portion of the phone...not on screen, above it....but the blinking light may indicate a missed call or a voice mail is present.

Try this. Go into your phone icon, press and hold '1' and listen to any open messages. Delete each. Next go into your Call Log and delete all call history. Now exit. There should be no green light flashing in the upper left hand corner of phone. You have just cleared everything.

Next call your phone but hang up before leaving a message. Note the blinking green light in the upper left hand corner apparently indicating you missed a call. Go into your Call Log. It will say one missed call. Exit the call log and note that the blinking light is now off. You have acknowleged the call in the call log so the light goes off when you exit.

Call the phone again. This time leave a message. Note the blinking light again. Go into your call log again. Note the missed call. It would be nice if there was an icon or something HERE that indicates if this call left a voice message....but there does not appear to be. Exit again. This time note that the light continues to blink even though you entered the call log and acknowleged the call. I believe it continues to blink because you have a voice message. Exit.

Go into the call log again. Delete the missed call from the call hsitory. Exit. The light still blinks, I believe still indicating a voice message.

Go to your phone icone. Press '1' to check messages, delete the message and exit. The blinking is now gone.

So it appears a blinking green light indicates a missed call. If it still blinks after exiting the call log, you have a voice message.

If someone figures something else out let me know because this stinks!

WHAT LIGHTS ON LINKSYS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE BLINKING

Note that incoming traffic will cause the WAN (or Internet) light to blink even if it is 'probe' traffic trying to break in to your network. Such traffic is to be expected and is the reason you have firewall functionality in your gateway router.

On the inside, there is a bit of traffic on any LAN when the computers are turned on. Messages generated by the router itself are used to find computers and printers for a lot of different legitimate reasons.

What does the status light mean,it's green

When it's green that just means that you're phone has service. When it blinks red that means you have a text message, virgin alert, missed call, or sometimes a voicemail message. You can turn of the status indicator light by going to Menu > Settings > Display > Status Light and select "Off".

My message light is still on after erasing the voicemail message. What can I do to turn the light off?

is the nec dsx telephone voicemail light red or green...?
if it's green, it's not the voicemail light, rather, it's the caller id missed call indicator. just look through your missed calls and it will go out... or if you have the admin software, go to class of service, station, and disable the caller-id alert lamp.
