How do you get it to free wheel? when you have to move from place to place

That's tricky... some of the small TB will not free wheel and either have to be "drug" from place to place or start up and drive it. Some allow to freewheel by pulling the pins on the wheel hubs, pushing the wheels "in" and reinstalling the pin. This allows the hub to "freewheel" on the axle and the pin just keeps the wheel from falling off. Hope this helps.

I have a troy bilt tiller with a 2hp motor.lately i have had to run it with the choke on and then when i engage the tines it will go dead.have any ideas thanks the engine is a tecumseh

You can check the linkage that links the governor to the carb. If that is fine then you can check the fuel line for a blockage, the carburetor for debris, and if that is fine then you may want to try sanding the rust off the magnet (on the fly-wheel).

I have a Troy Bilt Tuffy Tiller H30-35387S Ser 91330. The only number I can find for the tiller is on the shaft housing between the tines and the wheels and it is X0010527. I need a manual or parts diagram...

You've got the right serial number - it appears you've got one of the older Tuffy's. I'd suggest keeping an eye on Ebay for the manual you're looking for. I find them out there with some regularity. You can't get them from a dealer anymore because this Tuffy was sold by Troy Bilt before they went bankrupt and MTD bought the assets.

Grinding when Engaing PTO for the tiller-Troy Built Horse 8hp

It's likely that your clutch needs adjustment. To adjust, you just need to loosen the two screws on the plate and slide it a bit so the clutch better engages the rear dog clutch. Have you ever taken the tiller portion off the transmission to grease the clutch? If not, before adjusting it you might want to do that. It could be that the clutch isn't sliding back far enough to engage the rear end and a little grease is all it needs. This service requirement is explained in the owners manual for the tiller. One last point, the tiller must be in neutral when engaging the pto clutch. From your note, it sounded like you were engaging the clutch with the forward/reverse lever in the forward position. The lever must be in neutral when engaging the pto clutch.

I can't move my Troy-Bilt tiller unless it's running.

Some Troy Bilt Tillers were designed with a manual "free-wheel". If yours is a Tuffy (and maybe a Junior), you have to pull pins out of the wheels to move the tiller without starting it. The larger tillers, Pony's and Horses, had a lever to shift to release the wheels.

Shift your Wheel gear lever to "disengage". Use the disengage position only when the engine is not running.

Need manual for a Troy-Bilt Tuffy tiller

Your engine number is wrong by only one character. The proper number is H30-35387S you had a 5 instead of the S. You can download the engine manual from Tecumseh. I don't know about The rest of the tiller. (I have the same tiller).
