I have a Mitsubishi WS-55819 55" rear projection HDTV and the picture is bowed on all four edges and the colors are not aligning. Any idea what the problem may be and how to fix it?
Here is what I was told to try first. Firmly but gently, kick or hit the top or bottom side of the tv. Watch the picture as you are doing this. If it seems to clear up or if the bowing changes in any way you have a cold solder joint. I removed the boards and looked for a cold joint but could not see one. I then went over the solder joints with a solder gun and replaced all of the boards. My tv has worked very well for about 6 months now. Check it out and see if it works for you. Kurt
This called Projection TV convergence. Take a look on this site for a tip on Projection TV convergence.
This problem is an intermittent failure of parts called the convergence ICs. These parts need to be replaced. There are a pair of them mounted on metal fins inside the TV chassis. This does take some technical skill to remove them and reinstall.

What site?
Yes, but it had no effect on the bowed images and color issues around the edges.
The picture tends to come on in alignment, but snap out a minute or two later. Occasionally, it holds alignment and looks great, but other times, when the TV is turned on, it comes on out of alignment. It rarely snaps back into alignment anymore and seems to stay out of alignment more than in now.
Did you try adjusting convergence in the menu?
