Intel CS331 web cam not compatible with Windows 7

Can't find driver for the Intel CS331 PC Camera to work with Windows 7. Help!

IISAPenguin..well you might have missed that in xp mode you click USB at top and click "attach"

remember IISAPENGUIN as far as I know the ONLY way to get the camera to work is to have the Intel upgrade cd and not some so called driver download from some driver website. The Cs-331 camera WILL work within "xp mode" virtual pc if you click attach under USB heading at top before you run the CORRECT genuine intel upgrade cd

First of all you have to have the updated driver disk for windows xp for the intel cs331 issued in 2001 which i have...Second windows 7 32 bit version only. then you want to run the setup.exe from the disk by choosing properties-compatibility-choose windows xp 2nd edition...choose run as administrator and it will work...It worked for me...With win 7 64 bit it won't...always unknown device there. The disk that came with the camera will not work as it is not designed for windows xp. by the way I did get it to run within what is now called windows xp mode inside windows 7 64bit which has to be downloaded from microsoft and be compatible with your computer. details upon request

yayy i think you can figure out the name of the cd...perhaps this has to do with logo name and advertising...whatever im NOT advertising

I should have said from the beginning that actually the camera and software is quite compatible if you do it right and you MUST use the compatiblity page as indicated or you will get errors and the software and drivers will not install properly. In alot of places on the internet it says you can't do it. They are quite wrong probably because they dont realize you have to RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR and use compatibility XP second edition for the setup file and for the programs themselves as well once they are installed. How do I know this? Because I did it! Good Luck!

HMMMM Below my solution its says: "that solution does not work....etc". but that comment was about solution 1 above me since i just posted this...please realize this and know my solution DOES work. If you do NOT have the installation disk as described then im afraid you are out of luck. I cannot make copies of mine as intel will get me on copyright laws.

Ive got windows 7, 64 bit, - how did you get it to recognize the driver within the xp mode? ive been trying for hours, downloaded the virtual PC and xp environment, but i cant figure out for the life of me how to get the driver to install properly. compatibility modes are set, been running the driver from inside the virtual PC folder.... im just at a loss.

Sorry this camera is not compatible with Windows 7 and I can find no driver that will make it compatible. You can go here http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support?iid=hdr+support and let them scan your pc for a driver to update the camera but I fear you are out of luck with this camera and will have to buy one that will work with Windows 7.
