I have a customer that has a Ideal Destroyit 2600. He tried to shred a nickle. now the motor doesnt work. I have voltage at the terminal strip for the motor.Thought it was a bad motor, replaced it. Same problem. Im looking for a schematic or wiring diagram.

Investigate the operation purpose of the Oil Pump. Did you measure the voltage across the terminal or observe that the pump was not operational. It must have an auxiliary function that is not related to main operations. Investigate the purpose of the Oil Pump and deduce what would make it operate then check that switch if their is no voltage measured across the pumps terminal when it should be operating. This deductions may help lead to the problem and a solution.

The paper sensing switch lever has bent or broken or the switch is faulty. Check between the wheels about in the middle of the shredder to see if you see if the little plastic finger. If the finger is visible and can be moved, the switch is faulty. REMEMBER TO UNPLUG IT BEFORE DOING ANY INVESTIGATION.

Check your power supply, but usually there is an internal fault with the Motor, or switch. basically all they are is a switch, going to a Motor. To troubleshoot simply check for Voltage, at the Motor Terminals, if none find out why, usually, a broken wire, bad switch, bypass to test, or at worse a burnt out motor. This is evidenced by the fact you have full voltage at the Motor terminals but still no go. repair, and you should be all good.
You can test the Motor by simply putting the Power supply directly across the Motor terminals, for a very brief moment, and see if it runs.

How old is this machine? I'm a certified destroyit technician. If it has 1 round button there may be a few steps i can walk you through to get you back on the road.

I would NOT suggest trying to charge the D-LI63 battery, in any other way, than a charger made specifically for this battery. (D-L 'eye' 63) This is a ->LITHIUM ION battery. This battery can be overcharged, and blow up. Connect a Positive, and Negative from a power source to the wrong terminals, (Those brass strips on the battery), and if you get them reversed, it may blow up.

"Li-ion batteries are not as durable as nickle-metal hydride or nickle- cadmium designs, and can be extremely dangerous if mistreated. They may explode if overheated or if charged to an excessively high voltage. Furthermore, they may be irreversibly damaged if discharged below a certain voltage."
