you should have a sleep timer mode on your remote maybe you are accidently pushing the sleep timer by accident happens to me once in a blue moon Good luck

My new TV/DVD doesn't work. I went to the indicated GPX website for help, and all I get is a solicitation for a subscription assistance plan. Beautiful: misdirection, subterfuge and confusion. Smoke and mirrors. The new American way.

Not sure about manually changing from DVB to DVD but you could try and get the remote working first by pulling the remote apart and removing the red infared plastic part at the front of the remote, install new batteries and see try it out. Have seen this work on other remote units.

Read the manual on how to change the locked mode in the user manual for the TV. search for the TV model number and find the manual online.
