My LG DLG2532 gas dryer will only dry on the Time Dry/Manual Dry setting. The problem began when I set the dryer to "Normal" and the countdown would start at 30 min. and within 5 minutes, drop to 10 and then the dryer would stop as if the drying cycle was over. When I went to pull the clothes out, they would be just as wet as when I first put them in. A repair person came out, fiddled with the inside and said that the dryer vent must be plugged, which would cause the dryer to trip in order to prevent a fire, etc. He blew out the vent (it runs through the wall to the outside) charged me $85.00 and said that would take care of the problem. WRONG! Two weeks later, the same problem developed. I re-blew the vent and was able to get the dryer working on the Time Dry/Manual cycle. Also, sometimes when I go to use it on this cycle, load the dryer and push start, the drum will not turn and the machine will just hum until I stop, reach in and manually move the drum in order to get the dryer running. I really miss being able to use all the features of the machine (and stop using the time dry only function). Any advice would be helpful.
If you use dryer sheets, LG recommends no. Dryer sheets cause a film that will not allow the sensors to feel the clothes moisture during the drying process thereby causing the computer to countdown the timer quickly. To clean out the sensors, use a green pad and scrub the sensor bars inside the dryer drum. That should remove the film left by the dryer sheets.
Hi,
If you are having problems with your
gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor
goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working
properly.

If you have an electric dryer, you can
have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to
