My gibson robot battery ran down and now it wont go into the charge mode.

    Note, I just put in a new battery, and used a spare charger that I bought as brand new. It wont go into the charging mode!

    I have an Gibson sg robot guitar that I let the charge run down below the notice of low charge wher you need to do an emergency charge or reboot and now with following Gibsons instructions it wont go into the charge mode and charge.I put in a new battery, and am also using a new charger. So a pencil eraser just wont get it.Please respond if you now, or I can use a refund. Thank you!

Hi,
Try to charge it from other Power points, Check connection/direction of your battery & clean contacts of battery terminals.
If this will not solve the problem go to nearest dealer for repair (service), may be there is some problem with inner circuit.

I know this system well. Others have complained about the same problem which is why Gibson has come out with a new version. You probably need to change tuners. Sorry...

Clean the contacts on the battery and the charger with the eraser on the end of a common pencil. Insert the battery and see if it will take a charge. If it won't take the battery and the charger to radio shack and have them test each one. Joe

That serial number matches a guitar made at the Nashville Plant, TN, USA on March 27th, 1989. That's about all that can be said definitely at this range.

I have a 2000 Les Paul Robot that I bought from a music store. I think its a fake or no less than the poorest Gibson I have ever had my hands on. the s n 00508850 Thank You. Eric.
Do you mean the year 2000? The Robot was produced from 2008-2011.

However that serial number matches a guitar made at the Nashville Plant, TN, USA on February 19th, 2008, so that's consistent with it being genuine.

Press down on the battery, which will allow it to pop up, as if you were going to remove it. Press the power "on" button. More than likely, your Min-Etune will now work fine.

This is a problem with many batteries if allowed to fully discharge. One of the cells goes flat before the others THEN gets reversed charged as the device is continued to be used. The cell then shorts and the batteery will no longer be capable of charging. Replacing the battery is the solution. There are dangerous things one can do with driving a high chrging current for a few seconds to try and blow the shorted cell open... I would NOT recommend this due to explosion danger.

I changed pickups in my robot, now it doesn't tune. what could the problem be?
The on-board computer that senses pitch is designed to work with the stock pickups. Changing them makes the computer unable to "hear" the pitch, and therefore unable to automatically tune itself.This is a common problem, but a Gibson authorized technician should be able to correct the problem.
