For routers not just the power light that should be lit. Are you using a modem/router? If so, there should be a DSL,INTERNET,WIRELESS light indicator as well. If the DSL light is OFF,steady red, OFF there might be trouble with your line connection. Call your Internet provider. Also, check cables (yellow cord, gray cord, telephone cord) that should be connected tightly to where it supposed to be connected.
Try to unplug power cord and wait for 20 seconds then plug the power cord back in. If still the same problem your access point is no longer functioning and you may need to call your provider to help you with further troubleshooting or there may be a need to replace your device.
I had the same problem with a DLINK DAP-1160, it did not seem to reset and I could not connect, nor PING it. It turned out that the box WAS resetting, and although the default IP address 192.168.0.50 and subnet 255.255.255.0 was being set, my computer was assigning itself up a private IP address and subnet 255.255.0.0. In the manual, it does say that you must be on the same subnet, so I changed my alternate IP address for my ethernet to be static and set the subnet to 255.255.255.0 and everything sprung in to life.
To summarise: make sure the computer you are using to configure the DAP-1160 has its subnet to 255.255.255.0.
I think I was having a similar problem with my DAP-1522 ... FW Version 1.10 being used as an access point. I recently discovered that I was not able to connect to the configuration pages using a web browser by typing in it's IP address (192.168.0.50). When I originally set this up device up on my network, it worked just fine, but at some point in time, it stopped working. My solution to this problem was to set the switch on the back of the 1522 from Auto to AP, then re-boot the DAP-1522 by removing power, waiting 10 seconds, then plugging power back in. Once the AP re-booted, I was then able to access the configuration login page by typing 192.168.0.50 into my browser. My DAP-1522 access point is connected via port 1 to my D-link router, a DGL-4100, via a DGS-2208, 8 port gigabit switch. Hope this helps!
be sure to be on same subnet if you want to connect with access point and configure it. Let me know if you now how to configure your IP address to be on same subnet.
