The Problem is all Lan port light are solid and power light is dim. And you hear a very low hizzz noise from the router.

Solution is

I Fixed it with a new 470uf 10v cap ps its the one next to the circle copper wrapped wire than CS29 is written next to it.

Just replace it and it will start work again.

Are you certain that the capacitor was installed the correct way? Check the direction of flow positive vs negative I wonder if it was installed backwards?

SOURCE: power red light solid

I have same problem. I was able to manually assign IP of 192.168.1.2 and was able to connect to 192.168.1.1 (the d-link) but it keeps asking for Factory Supplied Firmware From ISP. I flash it with the firmware but then it crashes again.

Have you run the Setup CD that came with it?
If so, then I suggest resetting the router by pushing the reset button. Download the latest firmware from Cisco and then connect to it by opening your browser on a hardwired (direct connected) computer and typing 192.168.1.1 in the command line. From there you will enter the usual USER name of "admin" without the quotations. Upgrade the firmware and you should be set. You may need to teak the settings a bit to get what you prefer from your router, but that is personal preference.

SOURCE: power light is dim and

First try unplugging it for about 45 seconds. Then plug it back in.
If this does not fix the problem try to reset it via the reset button on the back and see if that fixes the problem. This will make your network un-secure and you will have to add a new pass phrase.
Let me know if this solves the problem.

Power light is dim and the 4 ethernet connection lights are bright green - even without a cable plugged in to them... removing power for more than 60 seconds and even hold ing the reset button for more...

I found this somewhere else but can't find it now - my router got hit by a power surge - i held in the reset button for 60 seconds with the power connected and it sluggishly decided to come back to life. WRT300n V1.1 - your results may vary.

My wrt300n power light does not come on when trying to reinstall my wireless

If the power light on your router wont come on , there are 3 possible reason for that:

The power outlet where the router is connected can be bad so what you can do first is to connect the router on a different power outlet and check if same problem.

The power adapter of your router is bad , so if you can try a different power adapter that will be good.

The router itself is bad after you tried those steps and still wont power on , so if the router is still under warranty better have it replace of call Linksys support via this number 800-3267114.

Lost power on my WRT300N router. Power came back and now the power light is weak and all 4 port lights are on.

I had the exact same indications after a utility power spike.
Quite by accident, I discovered that the power supply to the WRT300N when fully seated into the router causes the lights (and the router!) to malfunction in this manner.
I pulled the power supply connection out gradually and the power light began to flash. Pulling the power supply even farther out eventually caused the power light to shine solid.
I don't know if this is a random manufacturer problem with just my WRT300N (V1.1) or if others may have a similar defect, but it's certainly worth a try!
Good Luck!

Router problem

Make sure you have the wireless icon on the taskbar lower right side. If it does not show connected, click the icon and search for wireless devices, you should see the router. connect to the router. Also make sure you have a solid DSL/CABLE status light on the service modem. BPCS
