Sometimes, the iPhone 3G gets so frozen that the standard force quite process for program doesn’t work. In that case, you’ll need to reset the iPhone.
To do that, hold both the sleep/wake and Home buttons together for at least 10 seconds.
The red shut down slider will show up at the top of the screen and then disappear. Keep holding the buttons. The screen may even go black, but don’t let go of the buttons until the Apple logo shows up. When it appears, let the buttons go and the phone will start up normally.

Frozen screen

Hello,
First you will either need to let your phone die or take out the battery. Afterwards restart it and it shouldn't be frozen. Then go to your settings and find the option to reset.

Screen is frozen showing only the LG symbol, occasionally flashes

with a frozen phone issue, you may need to reset the software to get it running again. But you might loose your data if you flash the phone. I hope you don't have a problem with the screen. sometimes too, when the memory space is filled up, it freezes up. Take out the battery for some hours and try again. if it does not resume, then you may have to flash the phone to reset it to factory setting. Hope this solves your problem. Cheers!

HTC Touch is frozen. I tried resetting but it does not work, as well as take out the battery. I do not want to do a hard reset that wipes the hard drive since I have data I need to back up. When i conect...

Is your phone in the frozen state even after removing the battery for two full minutes? If the phone is still frozen you will not be able to do anything with the phone until this is resolved. And the way to do that is to do a hard reset. Unfortunately there may be no other alternative but a hard reset. The new Samsung Instinct has mobile sync which automatically backs up your contacts into your sprint.com account so if this type of thing were to ever happen you would have the comfort of knowing that your address book was still intact.

Frozen

Take it out of the freezer.

No, seriously, have you tried to reset it? Is your battery good?
Did you drop the phone on the ground or into water? If no dice after the reset, take it to a phone dealer who might help you.
