Go to Dell Support and download (as in Save, not Run) all the drivers then burn them to a disk. Next borrow an XP disk from a friend and  reinstall with it and your key. Once the XP install is done run the driver disk. Finally install the Antivirus.
After that you can update windows and install whatever else you want.

How do i reset toshiba c600

Hi,
When you say reset I will assume you want to reset to factory defaults? Meaning like as when you first bought it. There are a number of ways to do this. If you have the original installation and driver disks that came with the laptop you would use those to reinstall the operating system and other software. On some laptop models they partition a portion of the hard drive to be a recovery partition which can be used to restore the laptop to its original state. To do this, you would want to look for a program that is installed on the computer that will launch this recovery action. It may be titled "Toshiba Recovery Program" or something similar. If the laptop is under warranty support you can contact Toshiba to have them walk you through this process, being an additional option.

How do i restore my dell latitude c600 to its factory settings

The Dell Latitude C600 is an older Dell laptop computer. This particular model came with Windows XP pre-installed on it. If you are experiencing problems with your computer, or you want a fresh start with your Dell, you can restore the laptop to factory settings. This process removes all of the data saved on your computer and resets all of the settings back to the way they were when you first purchased the computer.

Instructions:

Step 1
Turn off your computer if it is currently on.
Step 2
Turn on your computer. When the Dell splash screen appears, hold down "CTRL" and "F11" on your keyboard. Release both keys at the same time.
Step 3
Click "Restore" in the "Dell PC Restore by Symantec" window. Click "Confirm" when you are warned that all data will be lost.
Step 4
Allow the system to restore and wait for the message that says "The system recovery process was successful." This can take about 8 to 10 minutes.
Step 5
Click the "Finish" button and your Dell Latitude D600 is restored to factory settings.

C600 has password at start up i need to bypass it

You may need to reset from inside the pc on the mother board. There is a CMOS pin you will need to remove and then replace. Then reboot the pc.
You may be able to get past it with a fresh complete install of windows XP as well.
Just put a good disk in - run windows xp and then go from there. I can walk you through this if you like.

Well, the drivers for the Dell C600 should work the same with any changed palmrest, I have swapped the same parts many times, so I would first assume the speakers to be bad, if nothing on the mainboard or software changed
