We have the same problem. Ours was under warranty so we had the motor replaced for free. The same problem started again a year later. We put up with it until recently when I phoned an engineer who advised me to unplug it and leave the doors open for at least 36 hours.I have just switched it off so I don't know if it will work. If the problem continued, he said, we would have to call an engineer. I wouldn't advise anyone to buy an Admiral fridge-freezer.

We have much the same problem except ours was going on for some hours at a time and then off for short periods. contacted Comet engineer who says its the compressor and will cost almost as much as a new machine to fix it. we are disgusted as its only just over a year old and has been repaired twice already. we would also add that both
the fridge and freezer are now completely out of action and have been all over the Easter period which has caused us much inconvenience. we will take this matter further if no satisfaction is gained from Comet.

I have an admiral gc2224gekb side by side. The ice machine isn't producing ice and also the fridge is freezing up

First, check to see if the airflow is blocked at the back of the fridge compartment as this also may cause the lower items to freeze. Fridge freezing is usually the malfunction of the damper swing door or the circuit controlling it. A failure of the temperature sensor in the fridge could be the cause. We just had ours replaced this year [on extended warranty]

Hi i have a fridge freezer model no GC2224GEKB,i have noticed that the refrigeration side has started to freeze even though i have it set to 3oc.

I just answered the same question so I've copied you into it hope you don't mind.
A common problem to this is the damper (vent from freezer) is bad or just stuck open, try defrosting it and adjusting the position so that you reduce the amount of cold air going into the fridge, hopefully it'll just be stuck in the open position and you well have no further problems. Always here to help.. Richard.

I have an admiral GC2224GEKB

You may have to open the door to let the dispenser thaw since it's in the door.
The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp ..

Admiral Refrigerator makes hollow ice

Hollow ice cubes are due to low water pressure to the fridge. Water thru the door should have good pressure behind it. This is a good indicator of water pressure. Should be able to fill a glass quickly. Causes for low pressure are self-piercing saddle valves on the water line (switch to drill type (1/4") valve) or reverse osmosis system or filtering system on water line to the fridge. R.O. systems should not be used. Increase water pressure and that will fix the hollow cubes. The loud noise may be the sound of the water valve on the fridge when it is acivated. This sound is normal and some are louder than others.
