My son solved 85 puzzles on Professor Layton, got the golden apple and finished the game. Played a couple of bonus games the next morning, then that evening when he turned the game back on, his file had been deleted. Any ideas anyone?
The save file becomes corrupt if, say, the DS is reset or turned off before the game has finished saving
In this case, the save file gets automatically deleted and there is no way to get it back
As the game will have to be started from scratch, this popular walkthrough may come in useful to get through the game again (by quickly skipping through all the conversations this should take three to four hours)

It may also be useful to, say, alternate between all three save slots just in case one of them ends up getting corrupted
On a side note, 85 puzzles is about the least possible to finish the story and there's still around 50 more puzzles to solve (besides the weekly puzzles) and this walkthrough will also help in finding the puzzles that were missed
