I have an LG 42pcd tv a little over 4 years old. The sound is fine but when you initially turn it on the screen stays black and then the right side of the viewing screen stays black and you can bearly make out the left side of the screen.

change the power regulator

Open the back cover and check the fuse on YSUS Board. If the fuse was gone, replace the YSUS board or ZSUS board.

I would suggest having the Y and Z Sustain boards replaced

I just got of the phone with a manager at LG and they want to send out a technician to figure out the problem. I made it more than clear that their are more than just a handful of us experiencing this problem, and they are "looking into it".

I think we all need to call in and complain, and drive the fact home that this is not a single incident, but that there are many of us having this problem. Point them to this forum, and tell them your faith in LG is waning. A threat of informing the Better Business Bureau never hurt either. That's what I did, and now they are looking into it more, and are going to cover the parts on the service call, so that my expense for their problem is covered, even though my warranty is expired.

If we want this fixed, and prevented in the future, we have to call and bitch, that is the bottom line. It is unfortunate, but that is how it has to work sometimes.
