Dell TV popping sound from sound card (I have the TV open)

Hi,

I have a dell 32 inch LCD TV that I bought 3 1/2 years ago. I started to give me this problem a couple of months ago where I would get noise/popping sound. I know that speakers are okay. I have the TV open right now and it seems like the sound board has a puffed capacitor and glue like liquid spilled over all other components. Could you let me know where I can get a replacement board? Is there any other way of fixing this?

I would really appreciate your help because I have the TV open right now in my living room and my wife would kill me if I don't clean the room soon.

Dell tv poping fix!!!
Remove main board and clean with parts cleaner(like cleaner from radio shack or similar) and a toothbrush works well.
make sure to get ALL of the residue from board. (looks like some type of glue)I used compressed air to get residue from under components and after it was clean i used the air to dry board good. also replace any puffed up capacitors (mine had 1 puffed cap) If for some reason it does not work i have heard there is a kit on ebay to replace audio amp.

Hello! I bought a LG 32-inch LCD (32 inch )

My best advice would be to call out your LG service repair engineer, it is most likely the current software in the TV is of an older version & will need to be re-programmed which an engineer should be able to check. This should cure the menu problem.

I have a Dell TV 32 In.LCD W3201\r\

I had the same problem with my dell tv. It's the exact same one you have. It kept making noise at first, and then the sound just went out. I changed the speaker wires to a slightly stronger, thicker wire and now it works great!! I hope this works for you.

I have the same problem with my 3 year old Dell 32 inch Tv

Yesterday I went to the pawn shop and purchased a Sony receiver they just got it in a couple a days (pawn shop) ago. The receiver is in great shape still had the stickers on them for less than 100.00. We hooked the speaker and the cords black/yellow/red to the in/out in back of the TV and the receiver. Wow! Great surround sound and the TV works like new. Please do not go and buy a sound board you will be wasting your money and the same thing will happen again and again. Dell sucks!

Dell TV no Sound

I have another solution to this problem
get any wall radio/cd ( walmart have some cheap one )player with aux inputs and connect the speaker to it and the cable to the audio out in the tv
then on the Audio menu change to fixed so you can use the regular control to balance volume
the radio/cd player will do the job of the amplifier

My Dell 32in. LCD TV, model W3201C no longer produces any sound.

That was indeed the sound module. I spent hours trying to find a replacement for my Dell TV. There was one on eBay for over $100.00, I decided to remove my speakers and install a low cost sound bar from Radio Shack. Easy to install and sounds fine. Several techs told me those boards are a problem along with every other board in those sets and since the Dell is low quality to begin with, I wouldn't spend the money. Go with the sound bar and buy a real TV next time. I'll go Samsung or Sony when mine finally dies for good.

DELL TV 32" LCD TV

the problem is the audio amp board has been fried. It needs to be replaced. This will restore the actual sound transfer to and from the speakers.

Dell 32 inch LCD Tv volume and menue problems

We also have a 32" LCD Dell flat screen tv #W3201C that has no sound. It's about 2/12 yrs old. One speaker started having a problem and we disconnected it. That was a couple weeks ago, now there is no sound at all. Dell should not be let off the hook so easily. Obviously there is a problem with the tv and it should be Dell's responsibility to make it right. Does anyone know if a class action suit has been initiated?
