sounds like your apple TV is putting out a higher resolution than your TV supports. Is the resolution on your tv 720 rather than the 1080 that the apple tv outputs. If that's the case go into the menu on the apple tv and change the output on the apple tv to 720.

I had the same thing happen, I used external system and the sound worked. You can't get the sound board fixed. I tried. Dell TVs stink. And there customer service are no help.

SEEMS YOU MAY BE HAVING A BACKLIGHT PROBLEM WITH THE PICTURE GOING DARK.THE BACKLITES IN A LOT OF TVS ARE MADE INTO THE SCREEN PANEL AND ARE NOT REPLACEABLE BUT COULD BE THE BALLAST SUPPLYING THE POWER FOR THE BACKLITE.MOST LIKELY IT'LL TAKE A SHOP TO CHECK IT OUT FOR YOU BUT YOU MIGHT FIND THE INFO ON HERE OR ANOTHER PLACE TO SHOW YOU WHERE IT IS.

this unit needs to be reset. To perform a master reset, do the following: there needs to be a component connected to the input jack. turn to the av station once on the av hit "619" scroll down and select master reset.

You can only remove the "lock" function by using a DELL remote control (must be a Dell remote) and go to menu and follow instructions.

We also have a 32" LCD Dell flat screen tv #W3201C that has no sound. It's about 2/12 yrs old. One speaker started having a problem and we disconnected it. That was a couple weeks ago, now there is no sound at all. Dell should not be let off the hook so easily. Obviously there is a problem with the tv and it should be Dell's responsibility to make it right. Does anyone know if a class action suit has been initiated?

there is monitor out back side of tv set.you can use dell speakers but there is allso need a amp.
all so try reset in lcd tv.
