I hooked up our Onkyo TX-SR607 system a few weeks ago and have watched several movies, but now I cannot get the Hitahci PH35811 TV to sync up to get video. I get audio, but no picture when we try to watch a DVD on our Samsung DVD player.

Are you routing the video into your reciver from the dvd player? If so route the video directly into your tv. It won't fix the initial problem but you will get picture and sound to watch dvd movies.

Hello Fixya team, I need help!

To set up your home theater system with the equipment you mentioned, follow these steps:
  1. Connect the Onkyo receiver to the NEC TV using an HDMI cable. Make sure the HDMI input on the TV is set to the correct input for the Onkyo receiver.
  2. Connect the Panasonic DVD player to the Onkyo receiver using an HDMI cable.
  3. Connect the Firestick Lite to the Onkyo receiver using an HDMI cable.
  4. Connect the Panasonic speakers to the Onkyo receiver using speaker wires. Make sure you connect the speakers to the correct speaker terminals on the receiver, which are usually labeled with the speaker's position (e.g. front left, front right, center, surround left, surround right).
  5. Configure the Onkyo receiver to use the correct input for each device. For example, set the input to "DVD" when you want to watch a movie on the Panasonic DVD player, or set the input to "Firestick" when you want to watch content on the Firestick Lite.
  6. Configure the audio settings on the Onkyo receiver to use the correct audio format for your content. For example, if you are watching a movie with Dolby Digital surround sound, make sure the receiver is set to decode Dolby Digital audio.
  7. Adjust the volume and other audio settings on the Onkyo receiver as needed to optimize the sound quality.
Once you have completed these steps, you should be able to enjoy surround sound audio from your Panasonic speakers through the Onkyo receiver.

Had a power surge and now my Onkyo TX-SR607 will not power on. Only get a constant click sound. Any repair advice?

although power surge can trigger activations of protection circuits,

there are at times, damage is done before it is activated.

• Check first for low power supply regulators,

then check for possible output stage failure.

let me know if you need further assistance!

Black and white picture from blu ray player

Run the Blue Ray straight to the TV and see if the picture is still in black and white. If it is you know that your reciever is fine and the problem lies in the player or the TV. If the picture is normal then you probably have a bad HDMI IC that will need to be replaced.

Powered sub only has sound while watching a dvd or listening to music on Onkyo TX-SR607

So perhaps it's a source sound issue. THAT would best be investigated at the Dish receiver. Consider it's audio settings and how it interfaces with the Onkyo.

I have this onkyo receiver and while we were watching tv, the audio just cut out and never came back. we've reset the receiver, checked the connections and no sound anywhere. when we power up our system,...

My SR607 also cuts out from time to time. My experience is that this is an issue of overheating, and protection circuits shut the thing down. Once it cools, seems to work ok. I have plenty of space around the unit, but still it seems to overheat, especially when playing hi-def / digital audio material.
