Because the radio has controls for the clarifier on the mic, there is an extra wire to have the control in the mic. This is why the radio uses a six pin mic but it is an offset pin spacing. This is an extremely tough mic connector to find and the radio is getting pretty old.
I have on several radios strapped the RF gain and used this knob as the clarifier and installed a five pin mic connector in the radio and it's mate on the mic. Not a job for those who are not used to doing this! But the radio is worth the repair as it is a good one! Email me at.... [email protected]

here is the pin outs.. look at the switch in the mic handheld housing.. and attach as the one shown for midland 4 pin. this will work with any radio. and doesn't matter which color is what.. as long as the wire on the switch matches the wire on the pin correctly.

I have a Midland CB Car with no mike or a car power pluge, the model # is 70 - 336B and the serial # is 760408

Your midland CB will use a standard 4 pin wired CB plug which is most common for most mics sold today. Your power cord will be a standard 3 pin CB power cord which again is most common with CB's today. You need not purchase a "radio specific" cord or mic. Cobra, Uniden, Midland all the same mic pin out and power cords. Good luck.

Powers up ,receives,but no transmit

This is never a good sign. This is usually a sign of a bad final.

If the radio doesn't transmit in SSB or AM, then it either means, Both finals are bad, (which is rare) or there is another problem causing the problem.

If it transmits in SSB, but not AM, then the AM final is blown and needs to be replaced. Its a job for a tech.

If both SSB and Am are not working it needs troubleshooting by a tech.

If you feel ambitious, you can pull the bottem cover off being careful of the speaker wires and make sure the TX section is connected.

Inside the radio, there will be one wire with a plug that is hooked to a pin near the center of the radio. And an empty pin. The empty pin is the test pin, ignore it. Make sure the plug is on the pin all the way, and not loose. If its on good, then it needs further troubleshooting.

Other things you can check:
Make sure the mic works.
Make sure the mic gain is up.

Converting a different brand of mic for a midland CB

This should be a typical Midland pinout. If you are using a generic 4 pin mic that is wired to cobra/Uniden, all you have to do is switch pin 1 & 2, then 3 & 4.

Not all mics are color coded the same with their wires.
