Midland 1001Z 40-Channels Base CB Radio Questions & Answers
Audio playback through speakers
HELLO
This happens because of the close proximity of the CB transmitting antenna to the car stereo antenna. I don't know for sure what country you live in, but if your country's CB system uses AM as a transmission mode it is well known for breakthrough on audio systems etc. In the UK, we have FM on CB frequencies which is less-prone to giving interference.
You could try ferrite rings/clamps on the car stereo antenna coax cable, power cable and also on your loudspeaker cables too. Apart from that - that is all you can do using it mobile!
GOOD LUCK
Need to tune and peak my midland 1000 cb
sounds like a problem to me . I have one that was in fair shape that had the same symptoms , I pounded the crop out of it with a hammer and now it doesn't recieve anything . You can't find a service manual for it ,unless midland will sell you one but don't hold your breath . Remember a 26 oz. hammer works good but not the radio.
CB Squeal When Transmitting
Grounding the antenna bracket is extremely important, if it's bolted into the metal frame or fender it should be OK. The coiled coax cable could be the culprit but that's only a remote possibility.Try running a separate groung wire from the radio mounting bracket (or one of the radio's cover screws if not using a bracket) to the CLOSEST vehicle ground...keep this a short as possible. Your problem is definitely caused by insufficient ground at either end of the coax, with the antenna side being more suspect.
How to peak mod
you need an external meter.Set it up for SWR on channel 1/19/and 40. Now after you have done this you set the meter on s/rf and modulation.Key the mic and check what your reading is. There is a modulation transformer inside and a variable not to far from it, turn it all the way to the right then all the way to the left. One way should give you more modulation and other should take it away. Just remember where the settings were and if they are not where they were the reset them as you procede
I have a midland model
make sure the radio is in cb mode and your ex.sp. is plugged into the proper connection .
Rci-2950dx 4 pin microphone wiring schematics
you can't because of the up/down buttons on the mic. the 2950 is a 6 pin and the d-104 is a 4 pin. If you can figure a way to eliminate the u/d switch then go for it. there is a wiring diagram on www.cbtricks.com
Would like to know the
that is one of midlands big secrets. they want to do the work on their product so they will only release certain manuals for certain radios. unfortunately the 1000 z isn't one of them. Hey I mean I have a 9001z and midland told me they don't have service manuals for it.
Echo board
echo mic works just as good and if you should ever sell the radio it won't have echo installed because a lot of people don't like it.
How do you turn the power up on midland 1001z
first you need a watt meter, then a service manual. people think that the more power you have the better the radio. yeah it sounds great but not over the space of 40 channels , and you can go up itno the amature band and wipe them out also and the lower 40 will also be splashed. Thats why if you want it done good take it to someone that knows what they are doing.
How do I increase the modulation on a midland 1001 z cb radio
There are microphones with built-in amplifiers that can be purchased to increase modulation on rigs that do not have internal adjustments for microphone amplitude. Another approach is to try and find the service manual for your radio and see if it has procedures for setting the modulation.
What is the dead key adjustment # on a midland 5001z cb ?
amps like the smaller wattage so they can push out more power but some amps like the 3 watt figure so they can push out more power. go to www.cbtricks.com and look up your radio. the schematic is there but I don't remember if there is a service manual for it.
How do you turn up the power on a midland 1001z
have you ever listened to a radio that 4 channels away and you have to go to that channel to hear what they are saying and they sound great? Well actually they don\'t because if they did they wouldn\'t be splashing you 4 channels away.A cb radio is supposed to put out no more than 4.5 - 5 watts max. thats because you will be the one doing the splashing if you turn it up to much. For one thing not only do you have to turn up the modulation and the power but also the voltage it takes to operate the radio at the higher voltage and this is the killer ,you will still sound better at the lower voltage but you will have no voltage to run the power so now its not activated so you turned it up for nothing.
