My Dell 670 had a blue screen when the c drive

My Dell Precision 670 had a blue screen when the c drive failed. I replaced the drives and at first the machine would take a long time to turn on, about 3m minutes. Now the power button flashes yellow and there are two yellow lights on the left in front. I think this means some kind of power or installed device problem but I can not isolate it. Machine does not want to power up

Upgrade hard drives on 670

There is a 2TB limit with MBR (Master Boot Record), but even a larger drive can be partitioned. So a single 4TB (biggest on the market) drive will look like several drives.
External drives that are bigger than 4TB are really several physical drives combined by an array.

RAID 1 requires optional SCSI drives, cables, and even software?

Add on SATA 3 cards to PCI are not a good idea if you are looking for speed. They just bottlenecks the throughput.

How do I get the second hard drive out of a dell precision 670

Hello there. before going into the Case make sure to touch the metal

Power down the PC and remove all cables

Open the side of the Case find the hard drive you want to remove unplug the two cables connecting to the hard drive and slowly remove the hard drive from the bay you may need to UN-screw the hard drive.

put in the new drive into its bay connect both cables put the case back together connect all the cables back to the PC boot the System up and reformat the new drive .

If you need anymore help with this problem let me know, i have done it many times myself thank you and don't forget to Rate

I have had problems when starting from cold - the workstation dell Precission 670 starts to boot then it gets to the window screen for only a few seconds and the screen goes dark and the "B" & "C"...

B and C usually indicate a drive failure. if issue only occurs on COLD boot and successive boot attempts gain access to the OS, then the most likely issue is that the HDD is slow to come to operating speed, (Drive has to be at Approx 97% of rated rotation speed before is can successfully read) on drives where the spindle is slow to come to speed, a cold boot then successive warm reboot will often gain access to the HDD/OS

One problematic issue on diagnosing this is that you only have 1 opportunity to run diags (The cold boot) and get a reading on if the drive is failing to read (also because diags are generally slower to load, the drive may come up to speed before the diag actually runs)
If issue is problematic and getting worse, I'd replace the HDD

No logical drive drives found dell presicion 670

If the problem would be the logical drives not found it means that your drives are defective. Though it is working but the board on the drives does not. Replace the drives and then start the installation of your operating system.

Need internal drive for dell precision 670

You have two options with the WS670. You can use standard IDE (PATA) drives or you can use SCSI drives (up to Ultra320). If you are already using SCSI HDDs in the system, you would most likely be best served by sticking with SCSI for your hard disks and leaving IDE for your optical drives which I believe is the default configuration, but it can be modified when ordering the systems. If you are already using LVD drives, just go ahead and slap another one in of any size. If you want to use IDE, your maximum size will be dicated by the chipset used in the system (information not available on the Dell website).
