A LAMP will not cause this problem. Do you have a reddish oval in the middle of the screen on a black and white program?

This model is prone to bad optical light engines (50V500) and there are several class action lawsuits pending right now.

Any discoloration usually means a burnt light engine--give me a better idea what the screen looks like and I will assist you for free.

Your light engine is failing. Common issue among this model.

IF you are seeing a red or pink large oval area in the middle of the screen, I can tell you what the problem is.

It is not the lamp.

have authorized servicer do a memory intialization this is ussually for a pinkish or reddish picture

your light engine needs to be replaced, iv done about 20 of thease, if your under warinty, call your warinty company, if not, yhe part is around 400 dollars, it is a hard one to change yourself
