I have a new LG 37" LCD TV. The picture is messing up and I don't know exactly how to describe it, but the people look like they are suddenly cartoon illistrations with not a lot of definition. The people at the store said it was probably the signal but when it messed up again I ran a VCR tape with the same result. I have tried to unplug and reprogram the TV but no luck picture does the same thing after the TV has been on for 15 minutes. Any fixes or take it back and exchange?

Don't do it unless you have a issue that the firmware fixes or directly addresses.. Seen more than one person do this and suddenly new issues appear or the set does not even work--just because it can be done does not mean do it.

I just want to clear things here.
The stand by light will remain on whenever the tv set is turned on by a button on the side of the tv.

Then use your remote to turn on the tv, but wait as it can take 10secs before you get a picture.

Enter the password "7777".

Try One of your working TVS and connect it to your cable outlet of the TV that is having problems. If that TV Does not work then there may be a degraded fitting or the Leg coming of the splitter to that outlet could have a Low Signal Problem
Next Take the First TV that was not working properly and put it on the cable outlet of one of the TVs that is working properly and if the TV set works on that Channel then you know it is not your TV that it must be the cable

If not, then I had a similar problem that I posted. I recently got an engineer to look at my TV and they had to replace the main circuit board.

Once they replaced it, everything was fine again, but unfortunately the part alone cost me around £250 ($500) and then there were labour charges on top of this.

LG parts are very expensive apparently.

I had recently noticed the same thing happening with mine.Then the left half of the screen turned black and has various red, green, and blue vertical lines. The right half of the screen shows has the picture just fine. It's exactly right down the middle of the screen.

You have a vertical issue in the TV itself. It is best to take it in to a servicer.
