you will need a dual shock 2 ps2 controller. The mad catz controller is probably a dual shock 1 controller. Some games require the dual shock 2. It should say on the back of the game if the dual shock 2 is required. If it says something along the lines of "pressure sensitivity" or "pressure sensitive" on the back of the game case (where it says "1 player" or "2 player") ... then you will need a dual shock 2 controller. If this is not the case and it only says "analog controller" and "vibration" then you won't need the dual shock 2 controller. If the controller doesn't work for any games or even on the console main screen, then it must be the controller that is broken. Try turning the system on without a game in it and see if the controller works. Hope this helped :-)
Hi,
This is happen because :
1. You may bought a non original controller.
2. You may always engage the vibration function.
Sony dual stick controller ( analog stick) has fine cables inside controller. The imitation ones even smaller. While you use the vibration function for long time, it make some cables apart.
Suggestion :- Use only original dual stick controller ( analog stick). Don't engage vibration function for long time
- I believe you can reconnect the wires inside controller ( so just fix it yourself) and play..
they don't have it. the dual shock 2 has it. but thats a ps2 controller. the dual shock 3 is a six axis controller, sony opted for six axis instead of vibration. if your lucky you may be able to find a setup to use a dual shock 2 setup to use with an wireless adapter for the ps3. good luck with that one though.
hi!there,
well! you can't activate what you want because the button "x" and " triangle" are the function key to move on but because of the pads inside your analog controller on "x" and "triangle"are worn out, there is carbon contactor on buttons has fade out, when ever you press x button no connection is conducting your analog controler.you can change setting on analog controller between x and square depend on you,go to configuration then on dual shock controller menu reset function button, you select a key that will change the function key.
or maybe replace your dual shock controller is the best way,
have a nice day, don't forget to rate me,thank's
it sounds like your controller has had what is called an elecro static discharge. the only way to fix it is to replace the controller with a new one as it is fried. there is now way for you to repair it.
does it stop working?or stopped vibrating?if the vibration stopped then wire connecting to the rotating motor is detached this is the common problem with dual shock because of constant vibration.Solution is to open the controller and connect the loose wire, dust is also a big factor if buttons are already not responding so try also to remove accumulated dust on the button touch board.
Hello,i see your having trouble with your ps2/pc controler,if you have brought this product preowned, the controler may be damaged in the wires, thats why when you launch a game the controler will automatically press the "a" key.... If you have brought this new,the controler may be faulty...
