Epson ACULASER CX11NF incoming fax problem

I have a problem receiving faxes.

I have a Telstra fax duet separate fax number that worked fine with my previous Samsung MFP on DRPD mode.

Now I have tried it set on:
Auto switching
Fax
Phone
TAM

The problem with auto switching is that if the phone (non-fax) line rings, the fax will answer the call over the conversation.

TAM won't recognise the incoming fax call.

Please tell me I haven't wasted $1300

I used to have this problem too.

I have different phone numbers for my TelstraClear shared fax/phone line, and solved the problem by setting our EPSON CX11NF to fax only.

Now it answers all the calls made to our fax number straight away. The 'phone' number still works perfectly.

It seemed counter-intuitive because I thought the EPSON had to do the thinking, and that if I set it to Fax Only it would try to answer the calls to the 'phone' line as well as to the 'fax' number. But it works because the shared phone/fax line is actually smart enough to sort it out before it gets anywhere near the fax appliance.

Hope my experience helps you too.

Try this:

Unplug line from back of printer

Set the Incoming mode to autoswitching
set DRPD to Off so that it will recognize all incoming calls

** if possible call your telephone company and set a distinctive ring pattern for phone calls

replug cable on line port at the back of printer

then ask someone to send you a fax...

If this is a new machine, why haven't you contacted AT&T? Sounds like either it's a configuration problem in the answering machine or it's incompatible with your phone line.

After setting up your fax you would want to test it of course.
Use free internet faxing to check if you can send and receive fax transmission.

Fax Receives but does not print

You have a known issue with your unit, the unit will require a firmware update. The issue is known to epson and they should fix it under warranty. Contact your local epson service centre or contact epson direct in your country. If they try to charge you, scream loudly at them, advising them that this is a known issue with this model and they are obliged to repair it. You will find they will fix it without too much objection.

Epson cx11 outgoing fax problems

This is not an issue with you unit, this is an issue with your phone line. get your service provider to check the line. also remove the line from your fax and put a standard phone on the end, try to make a call and see what happens. if the same result occures, there is an issue with the line and not the fax.
