Nokia 5800 always restart (insert SIM Card)

Hi, I have had a nokia 5800 since the end of Sept 09 worked totally fine until about 2 weeks ago (end of December 09) when it started to frequently stop working and display an "insert sim card" message. This requires me to switch my phone off and back on again and sometime the phone need to restart back. This will causes me to miss calls and receive texts late whenever this happens. I am not sure if this is a fault with my phone of with my sim card and any help would be much appreciated.

fix it yourself, send it back to nokia,
make sure the contacts on your SIM CARD are clean to do this lighting run the gold piece on your SIM CARD with a lint free cloth,
also make sure that when you push the Sim card in the 5800 it is in correctly, because i know with the 5800 you need to use the pen to make sure it is in right, try these steps if all else fail contact your dealer nokia or another authorized nokia repair (the last choice will be less expensive if you dont have mobile phone insurance)

Hi my phone has had no service for the past 5 days when it searches for a network it says that "no network operator found" but it can't be the sim card because it works fine in my old nokia 6300 Does...

Try upgrading the Symbian System with Nokia PC Suite. Try multiple sim cards.

If it still doenst work...
-The Sim Card might be damaged or incompatible with the phone.
-The Sim Card reader in the phone could be defective.
-The Phones Signal part could be defective too.

My nokia 5800 won't recognise my sim card

Test your sim-card in another GSM device. If the other handset accepts the sim-card and will allow you to use the network, then you can determine that your problem is the Nokia 5800 itself. Otherwise, you might need to invest in another sim-card.

Nokia offline

where did you bought your phone? if you bought it from a telecom's promo it means that your phone is locked to a single network provided only. you can ask a technician to have your phone OPENLINE for you to be able to use any kinds of sims.
if it's not the case, check the slot for sim and make sure that the sim is properly placed. restart it without the sim and then restart again but now with the sim.
