Hi, I have had a nokia 5800 since the end of Sept 09 worked totally fine until about 2 weeks ago (end of December 09) when it started to frequently stop working and display an "insert sim card" message. This requires me to switch my phone off and back on again and sometime the phone need to restart back. This will causes me to miss calls and receive texts late whenever this happens. I am not sure if this is a fault with my phone of with my sim card and any help would be much appreciated.
Yes this is a proven fault with the phone take it back to the dealer and they should repair it
fix it yourself, send it back to nokia,
make sure the contacts on your SIM CARD are clean to do this lighting run the gold piece on your SIM CARD with a lint free cloth,
also make sure that when you push the Sim card in the 5800 it is in correctly, because i know with the 5800 you need to use the pen to make sure it is in right, try these steps if all else fail contact your dealer nokia or another authorized nokia repair (the last choice will be less expensive if you dont have mobile phone insurance)
