My Dacor DMT2420 fan, light and turtable motor run continuously when the door is open. I have unplugged the unit to reset it with no help, another on-line forum expert suggested checking the door switches and monitor switch and those seem to be fine and make contact when the door is closed. Any advice on what is wrong?

If the cooling fan, light and turntable run continuously when the door is open, but not when it is closed, your secondary interlock (bottom door switch) is shorted (always on).

Even if it's shorted, the actuator button (usually red) will still move up and down when you open and close the door.

It will need a new door switch.

Dacor DMT2420. Light and Display work fine, and you can type in time for cooking, but when you hit start, it does not make the buzz of it's normal sound, and the turntable doesn't spin.

On the DMT2420, that's a bad bottom door switch, or possibly that switch's mount.

Turntable will not rotate.

If it's also not heating, on the DMT2420, that's a bad bottom door switch, or possibly that switch's mount.

Otherwise, it may be a bad turntable motor, turntable coupler, or the control circuit board (which we repair).

Door won't open

That's probably the door open lever or door open button, and there may be grease where the button passes through the control panel frame.

Dacor DMT2420 Secondary interlock switch fails every several months. Using a clamp meter I measured 13amps and was wondering if that seems high for that switch even though it's rated at 16 amps? The Turn...

The 13 amp current draw while cooking is normal.

What kills the door switch is when people open the door while it's cooking.

Make sure everyone always hits the "Stop" pad first.

Dacor DMT2420 turntable not rotating.

It may be a bad turntable motor or coupler, or the motor may not be getting power due to a bad connection or relay on the control circuit board (which we repair).

Display scramled, light works, timer counts down but unit doesnt

We regularly repair such control units for customers nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week or so with a one-year guarantee.

Assuming your model number is DMT2420 (since that's the category under which your query was posted) then you likely also need a new secondary interlock (bottom door switch).

Door switch or mount trouble is usually caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.

If you have a different model, please reply back or contact me directly with the correct model.

If you want to send your control panel assembly in for repair, you can note on the repair form that you need a new door switch and we'll throw one in at no charge.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your full model number from the tag on the unit) for more information & help.

Need help with DACOR Microwave model PCOR30S, w/the minute timer

This is a problem in one of the damper-related components, most likely the switch, but it may also be the motor or the damper door.

The damper is a door inside that opens or closes depending on cooking mode. If the controller senses that the door is not in the right position, it will shut down the cook cycle.

Sharp models (and Sharp models made for Dacor) stop after 59 seconds.

See the attached sample photo for a typical damper assembly.

We have a very close service manual and have uploaded it to our site here to help you.

You will need the
free Adobe Reader to view or print it.

If a switch is all you need, we offer a universal type for only $5 postpaid which you can order here.

If your model is PCOR30, and you need a new motor, the part number is 66756 and you can order it here.

Fan runs and turntable turns when door is opened

SRUte- This sounds as if you have a collapsed door switch, this would cause this problem,I would not recommend using it until repaired. But as far as recommending a good brand, each to his own everyone is different.I have done repairs for years, and I Love Panasonic products, they seem to have minimal problems.I hope this helps you out. cooltek Mar,3/08
