Control panel explanation

Hi, I am not having trouble with the machine, but bought a second hand HD 3000 with an LCD panel, but have no idea what the settings mean. Does 80% mean that I am trying to extract 80% of the humidity?
and what is the CONT button mean?
many thanks in advance for your help

80% means the humidity will be at 80%

You probably want a setting of 50 or 60% if you are trying to keep a damp area dry.

When it is 20 degrees outside, it will probably by below 50% humidity inside so you need more humidity, not running a DEhumidifier.

CONT is for continous running - you probably don't need that setting

We have two Danby Premiere Dehumidifiers. Both have stopped picking up water. The filters are clean, the fans run and there is alot of moisture in the air? Any ideas on how to fix them?

I assume that you have already:
  • Emptied the water buckets.
  • Are sure the buckets are properly in place.
  • Are sure the bucket switches are not stuck in the full bucket position.
  • Cleaned the cooling coils.
  • Verified that the controls are set for a low humidity
  • Verified that there are no trouble lights or codes,
  • Know that the area to be dehumidified is well above freezing..
It sounds like they are both stuck in defrost mode or the compressors overheated and need to cool off. "Both" is a bothersome word. Both might imply a power surge that wiped out the controls. I would:
  1. Unplug them and let them cool off 36 hours.
  2. Check your manual for a control panel reset.
  3. Take off whatever covers I could, to let me touch the cooling coils to be sure they get cool.
  4. Plug in # one and reset the panel.
  5. Let it run and see if the coils get cold.
  6. Plug in # two and reset the panel.
  7. Let it run and see if the coils get cold.
And then decided what to do next. Hopefully the cool off and reset did it .

Good luckl.

I have a Frigidaire 30 pint dehumidifier, the fan is running, but I do not hear the compressor. There was a lot of dog hair inside when I bought it second hand. Did I get screwed?

I don't think it's a thermistor problem, as previous respondents have suggested. I have one of these units. The control panel has been nothing but trouble. The Power button works, but the Fan Speed button is stuck on High. The Humidity Up/Down buttons only work sporadically. Sometimes they work if I keep punching them. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to when they work and when they don't. I think they're just cheap parts that have failed prematurely.

Your problem may be the thermistor that causes the CH01 trouble code.

M7DH45B2A Dehumidifier

The fall may have knocked out some wiring -- open the unit (remove back panel, then remove front by taking out screws inside) and see if any of the cables to the front panel or control board came out.
