Are there NO LIGHTS at all ? Check continuity of F1 and F2 and make sure that L2 (by the ON/OFF switch) hasn't been dislodged. At the very worst you can buy a new motherboard for about £38.00 (~$60 UK).

If you flashed your DS Lite this is the classic problem. A DS Lite NEVER EVER NEEDS TO BE FLASHED!!
What you can attempt to do is remove the Bios from your non-working console and clear it using unflash or a similar utility. Do a Google search and you will find the instructions.
