Do the self check if it comes on for a moment and then the power light goes off.

On the front of the set hold both the MENU and INPUT(also called DEVICE) together for at least five seconds and then release both buttons.

The power light will blink an error code--for example 2 blinks a pause and 2 blinks--it will repeat it several times. 2,2 is the most common error code for this set.

Let me know what you find and I will tell you what it means--it is designed to give a quick idea of what is wrong with the set.

if this helped you rate this solution as I do this here for free.

it means one of the two fuses that are soldered in for the convergence circuit are blown.

This model uses two of the STK-392-570 CHIPS---blown fuse means one or both are bad.

What needs to be done is replace both chips and fuses and adjust set.

If it is of interest to you I have start to finish instructions for this repair--done hundreds of them.

shops will get 300 or more for this but actual parts cost from EBAY is under 30 dollars total.

Let me know if you are interested in the instructions.

Television has sound but no picture.

The liquid is actually CRT coolant dripping down onto the circuits. It will need to be cleaned with denatured alcohol and then dried good. Then any components in the area where the liquid was will need to be resoldered as the coolant will destroy the solder and the circuit traces if left too long as its highly corrosive to solder.

Attempt to turn on greenlt comes on for 2 secs then shuts off

WS-65807?The most likely problem is one or both of the fuses that protect the 2 convergence chips are blown. The set detects no voltage and shuts down. This set uses 2 stk-392-570 convergence IC's; I have step by step start to finish instructions for this repair along with photos that show the fuses and protect resistors.

If you can do the repair yourself---the fuses (called pico fuses) should be checked first---if either of the 2 for the convergence circuit are blown---you have to replace them and BOTH chips.

If you are not able to do this repair yourself, find someone in your area who has done this kind of repair; any good tech can do this repair in your home--takes about an hour. Most shops will try to charge 300-400 for this repair-----I do lots of them here for 200-250 total. If a shop says it "has to go to the shop", keep looking.

Turns off as soon as I turn it on. ws - 65819

I had the same problem. The repairman said the Convergence ICs were bad, located on the big aluminum heat sinks on the center board in the TV. He replaces both, and a couple of fuses (that look like resistors).

The tv worked fine for a couple of days then did exactly the same thing. They are coming back out to fix it next week. If there is anything different, I'll post an update.

Mitsubishi WS-65807 blinks '22'

Jim,
yes the convergence Ics are what cause the two picos to be open they are both 5 amp picos. You can get the picos, the convergence ICs and the factory service manual for your model at the following link.your model is known as the V17 chassis for service manuals and you should require two STK392-570 Convergence ICs. Heres the link they provide free instalation instructions.

Mitsubishi WS-65807 blinks '22'

I replaced the pico fuses and the convergence IC's. fuses poped right away code 22 . Further inspection of the board showed the coolant had leaked out of the center projector and fried the board. Not willing to pay $300. Passed it on to someone else

Won't power up.

Check the center board for two green 5amp Pico fuses F9A04 and F9A05 if those two picos are blow, replace both STK392-570 convergence ICs on that same board and the set will be repaired. Fuse F9A05 will read open in circuit but F9a04 wont so its best to lift one side of those two pico fuses out of circuit to check them. (* % of the time a 22 code in that chassis its the ICs having shorted and it will blow those two picos. You can get replacement parts at the following link.
