Hi all. Recently purchased a replacement top lcd screen of ebay. I then took it to a mobil phone repairer to install screen. The problem is the top lcd screen remains dark, you can still make out the screen. i have adjusted the brightness on console, though top remains dark, everything still works. please help me.P.S mobile repairer doesn't want to know about it and seller of screen hasn't responded to any of my e-mails for help.

I think i have your same problem... i had a fuse blown in my ds. The bottom lcd was working... I just opened up the ds to fix the fuse. And then the ds is working, but the bottom screen is dark, it looks like the backlights of the LCD are not functional...
You've invested a lot of money and headaches already on that item. Worthy/more practical to buy a new one instead.
Right you should get a new official ds it will work on a new one.....

Top LCD's flex cable that passes through right-hand hinge into bottom part of case will be damaged or not properly seated in its connector socket.

Nintendo will fix the hinges depending on a few things, first thing would be to determine how the hinges were broken. The hinges are tested before they leave the factory, the only way that they actually break would be because of physical damage/impact. Physical damage is not covered under the manufact warranty so you would get a discounted price depending on if your under warranty or not. Regardless giving them a call and having their techs fix them will be the best bet, not only because you know it will be fixed right and your warranty will start over the day it gets repaired.
