NOISE OR PAPER GETTING STUCK IN FAX MACHINE WHILE SENDING FAX

We have Brother make Fax 2800 working great so far. Recently, it started making noice and dosen't take the paper inside while sending the fax of making copy. It makes kind of cracking noise. There is some issue with roller or paper feeder during sending fax.

Can some one help me out

    Same thing here but i have found the problem with mine...

    the document pickup roller, not the big one the smaller black one on top of the white ones, slides to the left causing the gears to slip.

    I'm still trying to locate a more reasonable solution than paying $15 for a new roller.

Look in or around scanner area to see if there is any foriegn material trapped in paper handling area.

My first guess is a bad drum unit. Inside the assembly is a soft, plastic blade that scrapes off the toner that didn't make it onto the paper, so the next page will be clean. If dirt is stuck under the cleaning blade, it may skip, making marks like that on the drum, which get transferred to the page.
Do you still have your old DR-400 drum, or can you borrow one from another machine? Swapping drums is the ideal test, if you can avoid buying a new one. If your new drum is bad, the seller should exchange it.

Original jammed in fax feeder of Brother Intellifax 2800
lift document feeder cover and look for paper. if no paper is present there are one or two switch levers that are on the bottom of feeder cover. make sure they can move freely and are not stuck.

Paper is not "picked up" to print.

The fax machine is in sleep mode
Fax machines are ANALOG devices and will not work reliably on a DIGITAL phone line . Filter makes no difference.

If you have a hand set try to use it as a phone. If no dialing tones are present check the phone line connection. If the fax is well connected there is a good chance that you need a part for the machine.

It could be that your sending fax is sending paper not facing the scanner. In that case tell them to turn the paper over to send. Other than that, it could be that the telephone lines are so dirty that the fax protocl fails at the check frame signal. You will have to adjust the equalisation and line attenuation. Don't count on the telephone company to help you, they always want you to do everything 1st before they will admit to any fault on their part.

Outgoing fax makes loud clicking noise
2 different problems here. 1st is with document feed and 2 is with paper feed.

1st prob seems to be with the paper feed roller not meshing at the gear. Probably a broken piece on the lower document tray assembly. No real fix for this unless you can strip it out and haywire it.

2nd prob is probably a poorly meshing drum unit. Examine the gear teeth on both the drum and the machine. As you have replaced the drum already (presumably with a brand new one) You might possibly find a missing or badly worn tooth on the messhing gear in the machine.
