Hi,

sounds as if one of your memory modules is defect.
CRC stands for Cyclic Redundancy Check and is a form of checking the memory.
If you have two modules inside, take on out and see what happens.

Best regards

ERROR 0175: Bad CRC1, stop POST task message Been using my IBM a30 laptop for some months but was surprised to get this error when i tried putting it on this message pops up ERROR 0175:BAD CRC1 STOP POST...

You obviously didn't read the problem carefully. The machine won't boot, so there is no command line. I have the same problem with a T23. It might be the CMOS battery that needs to be replaced.

Post problem

If it beeps (which it should) means that some device did not pass post. Find your motherboard online and look up the beep codes. This should help you to discover the problem. I hope this helps!

Bad CRC1, stop POST task. The EEPROM checksum is not correct

This problem you may not be able to fix. There are a couple of things you can try.
1st Keep on rebooting your laptop until this error goes away.
2nd Replace the BIOS battery, it maybe nearly worn out. After replacement you need to go into the BIOS setting to set the Date & Time.
