There's a loud humming noise coming from the back of the tv when on an a 5 in. black stripe that goes down the left side of the tv when on

  • CKsystems May 11, 2010

    What type of TV are you using? It sounds like an issue involving the bulb or series and/or electronics transmitting the current to that area of the t.v.

    Brand and model would be helpful as well!

Lg tv humming noise when tv is on

The humming noise is most likely coming from the power supply.

If the unit is worth the repair cost ( Over $100.00 ) you should have it repaired.

If not, deal with the noise until it goes out.

I have a pair of JM lab Electra 905 speakers, running through a DNM amp and power amps. When powered up, the left speaker makes a very loud humming noise. This has happened recently. I haven't changed...

Hello
Switch on your amp, keep its volue down to extreme low, and listen if there is still hum through the left channel or not. If still there is hum, the left side power amplifier section inside the amp;ifier is faulty. If htere is no hum at this state, hum enters thorugh the audio input terminal, and the input wires must be checked for open sheild connection. OK.

Sounds like the color wheel has broken. Remove the color wheel and see if its broken. Usually a broken wheel will cause those symptoms.

Humming

Hi,

More often than not, the humming sound on any electronic device is brought about by the AC side of the power supply not only of the device itself but also all other equipment it is attached to. In your particular case, it maybe introduced into the system from:
  • (coaxial) cable TV leadin;
  • connections of DVD, VCR, game consoles and others;
  • electrical noise from lamp dimmers, lights with electronic ballasts, wireless phones.
It is interesting to note, that the noise could be from other appliances plug in the same circuit as the TV, you of course could try plugging it into another outlet or branch. In some instances, you could even try filtered regulators similar to those used by desktop computers.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
