I have a problem with my mbox (2004 model) running on my ppc G5 mac with pro tools 7.4.2. it now has a big latency problem after i bought the new mac book pro and plugged it in there (which intially worked fine) now as I have put it on tonight its giving me hectic latency. when i look under the system preferences pane it only shows mbox 2 and mbox 2 pro which I am sure it had mbox (and mbox 2) (in other words the mbox 1 version as well as the 2). Can anyone help?

Why am i getting post distortion on my pro tools mbox 3

Perhaps check your settings. I had to change the number of porocessors to four (from single or one) and select minimize I/O latency to get the problem solved.

Is your question about G5 ppc mac. or about Suzuki g5 motor cycle.-------------I assume its about g5 ppc mac.-------
Try downloaded the latest version 2.5.1 to update the 2.2 version;.---------- 1) Open Finder and go to the Macintosh HD -> Library -> Receipts folder. In here you'll see the Pitch 'n Time Pro 2.5.1 Installer.pkg file - delete this.
-----------
2) Go to the Macintosh HD -> Library -> Application Support -> Digidesign -> Plug-Ins folder. In here you'll see the Pitch 'n Time Pro.dpm file - delete this.
-----------
3) Run the Pitch 'n Time Pro installer again.
----------------- If there is no installer.pkg. File. Then However, you will see these other two files as follows :---Pitch 'n Time Manual.pkg-------

I have a mxl 990 microphone and its hooked up to a Pro tools LE 8 Mbox Mini . when im recording on protools or any other software with this mic, i hear a static/popping sound and it records the popping...

Try increasing the latency. Depending on your computer, it may not be able to handle low latency levels. Latency is a measure of the delay between the time you make a sound and the time the computer records that sound. With the Mbox mini, the unit for latency is the number of samples the driver collects before sending them to an application as input. Lower latency can make recording easier and more accurate, but not all computer systems can operate at the lowest latencies without introducing noise. Open the Mbox mini dialog and select the latency tab. experiment with higher latency levels and see if it goes away. somervta_0.jpgThis is what the dialogue might look like. another solution would be to try a different DAW. I had the same problem with my Fast Track Pro in ProToolsand it worked fin on Reaper, Garageband and Logic.

MBox 1 Compatibility with new Macbook Pro Unibody and OSX 10.5.6?

unfortunately any pro tools application below version 7.4.2 is not compatible with leopard and I don't think you can use mbox 1 with the universal mac I may be wrong but I wanna say I tried a while back and even garageband wouldn't find it anymore but you can check for sure by going to the applications folder then open the utilities folder in there is an application called "Audio Midi Setup" and you can select the mbox in there if you see it but if not there is no patch or driver that I know of to get it working unless you upgrade pro tools which if you do upgrade I suggest getting mbox 2 and getting LE with it

Macbook pro does not detect digi 002 rack

yeah i have an intel imac and had the same problem. I upgraded to pt le 7.4 and now pro tools recognizes the 002 rack and it works fine, but still the core audio manager does not recognize the hardware. It says in "use" when I first turn on the 002 rack, then it says not connected after about 20 seconds. I don't think this really matters though because I have beeen able to do everything fine without having the core audio managr recognizing the 002 rack. I hope that helps

I have a snap back delay when I try and record using my m-audio and protools. I can hear a slight delay in my headphones to what I'm actually playing. How do i get rid of this?

Hi emmastevens

what you are hearing is latency(delay) in the electronics, software, and maybe your computer is producing some problems also. Have you tried to monitor yourself direct from a mixer before you feed the signal into the MBox.
